About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

MWG Holdings Celebrates Multi-Year Partnership With Last Prisoner Project to Advance Cannabis Criminal Justice Reform

Perfect Union Dispensaries Host In-store Fundraiser Through July in Support of National Nonprofit

Founded in 2019, the Last Prisoner Project is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the injustices of cannabis prohibition and the War on Drugs. Through advocacy, policy reform, and direct support, the organization works to release individuals still incarcerated for cannabis offenses and to repair the harms caused by criminalization.

“Our partnership with the Last Prisoner Project reflects our deep belief that no one should remain incarcerated for actions that are now legal in California and many other states,” said Angelica Sanchez, MWG Holdings’ VP of Government Affairs and Compliance. “It’s not enough for the cannabis industry to move forward without acknowledging the harm caused by decades of criminalization. Through this campaign, we’re inviting our customers to join us in supporting meaningful reform and helping restore freedom and opportunity to those still impacted.”

MWG and the Last Prisoner Project have joined forces to raise funds for individuals incarcerated due to the War on Drugs since 2020. These funds are used to provide legal support, advocate for policy reform, offer reentry services, and support justice-impacted communities.

In the past six years, the Last Prisoner Project has redistributed over $3.5 million to constituents in need through its Commissary Support Fund and Reentry Grant Program. The organization has provided pro bono legal counsel to more than 400 individuals, including clemency petitions, compassionate release motions, and early termination of supervised release. In California, LPP partnered with Assemblymember Mia Bonta to sponsor AB 1706, now considered a national model for retroactive cannabis relief.

“This work couldn’t be done without the support of partners like Perfect Union, whose commitment to justice and equity helps us continue fighting for the freedom of those still impacted by the War on Drugs,” said Philip Feng, Development Associate at the Last Prisoner Project. "It’s up to all of us, from industry leaders and advocates to everyday citizens, to ensure that no one is left behind as the cannabis landscape evolves."

Customers can support the Last Prisoner Project by donating at any of the following Perfect Union dispensary locations and Wild Seed Wellness store through the end of July:

MWG’s community-first approach is reflected in its philanthropic initiatives across California. Through Perfect Union, the company donates a portion of proceeds, organizes events, and actively volunteers to support nonprofits focused on mentorship, health, foster youth, and food security in cities including Sacramento, Woodland, and Marysville. This ongoing commitment to giving back strengthens local partnerships and reinforces MWG’s reputation as a responsible, community-focused operator. Through initiatives such as its partnership with the Last Prisoner Project, MWG seeks to engage its customers and communities in advancing meaningful, lasting change.
