About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Experience Epic First Motorcycle Rides at Vegas Motorsports Festival

By: NewsUSA

(NewsUSA) - Are you curious about motorcycles but have never had a chance to ride? Those interested can enjoy a unique opportunity in Las Vegas on November 3 starting at noon at SEMA Fest. For the first time ever, the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), is hosting an event open to the public following the SEMA Show, a premier trade event for the automotive industry.

RWU at SEMASEMA Fest is a celebration of music, motorsports, and car culture, and SEMA Fest attendees are welcome to experience the Motorcycle Industry Council’s Ride With Us Moto Intro at no additional cost. The motorcycles, safety gear, and coaches are provided for this first-class, first-ride experience so that participants can get a taste of the joys of motorcycling in a supportive and controlled environment.

“Ride With Us inspires potential riders to take the next step to becoming a licensed motorcyclist,” said Cinnamon Kernes, MIC’s vice president of market expansion. “The entire experience — from sign-in to actually riding, with high-fives, and huge smiles — takes about 20 minutes. Many people are amazed at how approachable motorcycle riding can be.”

During the Ride With Us Moto Intro experience, each rider is paired up with a Motorcycle Safety Foundation-certified coach who accompanies them every step of the way, allowing the new riders to go at their own pace.

Ride With Us Moto Intros help people who have never ridden a motorcycle get their first taste of being behind the handlebars, operating the throttle, clutch, and steering. For many, this event may be the first step into the larger world of motorcycle riding.

“At the end, you will be able to start, stop, and ride around our course with confidence,” Kernes says.

The Moto Intro experience will also be at the SEMA Show, October 31 to November 2, and is free for all show attendees. The general public is invited to participate at SEMA Fest on November 3. Tickets for SEMA Fest can be purchased at www.semafest.com.

The Ride With Us Moto Intro experience will take place at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds during SEMA Fest and at the Las Vegas Convention Center during SEMA Show.
