About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Pipette.com Has Added New CO2 Incubators and Clinical Centrifuges

Pipette.com is an ISO 17025 Accredited Calibration Facility that calibrates and repairs all pipette brands and models. Pipette.com is the largest independent pipette calibration facility on the West Coast. Pipette.com is also a distributor of several manufacturers of centrifuges, pipettes, pipette tips and lab equipment.

Pipette.com has added several new CO2 Incubators to their e-commerce platform. CO2 incubators are essential tools in cell culture research, as they provide a controlled environment for cells to grow and thrive. These incubators are designed to maintain a precise temperature, humidity, and carbon dioxide (CO2) level that is optimal for cell growth. One of the most important functions of CO2 incubators is to maintain a steady level of CO2 within the chamber. This is critical for cell culture research, as cells require a specific range of CO2 levels in order to grow and divide properly. If the CO2 level is too low, cells will not be able to produce energy through cellular respiration, and if the level is too high, cells will become acidified and may die.

Pipette.com is excited to offer the newly designed and improved ST45 and ST180 Series CO2incubators from Benchmark Scientific for labs' incubating needs. This incubator, with its proprietary heat distribution technology, provides the maximum level of temperature accuracy minimizing fluctuation (within 0.1°C). This capability ensures culture integrity and minimizes sample loss. Constant temperature is essential for proper culturing of cells, bacteria or yeast. The unique six side heating system and low-speed internal fan spread air evenly throughout the incubator to ensure all cultures are at optimal temperature. These CO2 incubators provide a temperature range of Ambient +5 to 60°C.

In addition, Pipette.com has added new clinical centrifuges. Pipette.com has added the Z306 centrifuge, which is a compact and economical centrifuge with a series of rotor options making it well-suited for clinical, industrial, and research laboratories. Maximum 18,624 xg. The Z306 Centrifuge is a compact and economical centrifuge with a series of rotor options making it well-suited for clinical, industrial, and research laboratories. Despite the impressive capacity of the 4 x 100ml rotor (capable of supporting 8 x 50ml or 12 x 15ml with the use of rotor inserts), the Z306 is surprisingly compact with a footprint of just over 14 x 18 inches. An optional rotor is also available for microplates (2 x 3 microplates), positioning this model as one of the smallest, and least expensive centrifuges capable of high-speed microplate centrifugation.

Lastly, Pipette.com is an ISO 17025 Accredited Calibration Facility that calibrates and repairs all pipette brands and models. Pipette.com also provides companies best-in-class functionality with their Lab Management Software for the management and performance of calibrations and maintenance. Pipette.com's Calibration Software cloud infrastructure enables calibration and documentation to be processed in real-time, increasing efficiencies and productivity, while reducing costs.
