About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Steelhead Hosts Successful Food Drive for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas

Las Vegas, Nevada, United States - 10-10-2022 (PR Distribution™) -

Exhibit company’s event brings 4,376 total items to families with children in critical care at Sunrise Children’s Hospital.

Steelhead Productions, a premier provider of event exhibit and marketing services, announced earlier this year their fundraising partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas® (RMHC®). Steelhead’s Give Happy committee organized a food drive which resulted in 4,376 items donated to families utilizing RMHC’s services, specifically the Ronald McDonald Family Room located in Sunrise Children’s Hospital.

When children need surgery or intensive medical treatment, or when newborn babies need care in the neonatal intensive care unit, the Ronald McDonald Family Room provides a home-away-from-home environment for families to stay close to their children. This dedicated space inside Sunrise Children’s Hospital includes two sleeping rooms, a kitchenette, a lounge area stocked with children's books and games, lockers, and a shower room. RMHC has opportunities for volunteering and donating supplies that support the Family Room as well as other services.

Rhiannon Andersen, Steelhead’s CMO, notes how Steelhead’s Give Happy committee saw an opportunity to support RMHC:

“What I’m most proud of about the Give Happy committee is that we empower our members to research, advocate for, and select the community charity we’d like to support. When we learned about RMHC’s mission, we knew we could gather support from not only our Steelheaders, but our event community as well, and they certainly showed up. Thank you to every person who donated to this incredible cause to make someone else’s life a bit easier when they’re navigating an emotional challenge.”

Julia Copie, Marketing Coordinator for RMHC, talks about how Steelhead’s support for the organization started before the food drive:

“Steelhead’s involvement in our charity actually began at our annual run. They had the sixth largest team, totaling 30 people, which is quite impressive for a small company. In addition to the Snack Happy food drive, they also donated plastic cups and metal lunch boxes. It was amazing to see how much Steelhead raised for our organization which ultimately benefits the families we serve.”

Justin Schultz, Account Manager at Steelhead Productions, speaks to how it feels to partake in something greater by being a Steelheader:

"One of the things I love most about Steelhead is the philanthropy work this company does to help those in need. I was honored to be welcomed into the Give Happy Committee to help make a difference in our community. Personally I have been doing charity work with the Ronald McDonald House Charities for the last 7 years, including running in the Chicago Marathon and raising money for Team RMHC. The House holds a dear place in my heart so I was thrilled when I was able to partner the Give Happy Committee and our local RMHC on several projects. The best of both worlds!"
