How Design For You Works

The goal of Design For You is to provide catharsis of sorts to the customers.

The customer has to make a choice on the recipient of the phone case. It can be themselves, their friends, or family. A theme is then settled on, from anniversary to birthday or nostalgic memory.

Next, they choose the color, style of painting, text to be added, and any additional context they want to add. The context should focus on their relationship with the pets or the people to be featured in the artwork.

GEARART sends all this information to real artists who work with them. The artist collects the information, and analyses the story and information to determine the right information for the picture on the phone case.

If the customer has clear instructions, the artist will paint without any divergence. If the instructions are vague, the artist will add their own artistic interpretation.

The commissioned phone case then arrives at the customer’s doorstep in a sturdy dull orange packaging, representing the GEARART brand color. From the packaging to the material and colors for painting, all are kept eco-friendly with the conscience of the younger generation in mind.

While maintaining a low-impact production quality on the environment, GEARART phone cases are still built with premium quality material. There’s triple protection on the guard, ensuring even a 3-feet drop of the phone won’t damage the phone or phone case.

The Story Behind GEARART

The idea behind Design For You came from the co-founder’s - Mr. NG - own experience.

Mr. NG used to be involved in the mobile phone case marketing department of CASEKOO, the parent brand of GEARART.

Extremely close to his 75-year-old grandmother, Mr. NG would take the time to drive 3 hours to his grandmother’s countryside house every weekend.

When the workload became so overbearing and he had to slow down on his visits, he left his adorable, somewhat terrified British shorthair cat, Gig, with his grandma. They quickly became friends and Gig acted as a sort of spiritual replacement for Mr. NG.

Gig passed away in the third year of his stay with his grandma. Mr.NG commissioned an artist friend to create a painting of Gig with his grandmother, after realizing they don’t have a real picture together.

When his friends saw the custom phone case he created with the artistic rendition of Gig, MR. NG noted the curiosity brimming in them.
