Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Battle Hero the "Fortnite for mobiles" has raised $1.5 million in crowdfunding

Andorra, Andorra - 03-08-2023 (PR Distribution™) -

One of the most striking successes of the national videogame crowdfunding reaches a new milestone. The company Be a Lion has completed the development of 'Battle Hero', the long-awaited NFT game for mobile and PC that has raised a record 1.5 million dollars before its launch.

Battle Hero' is a shooter-style action game for mobile devices and computers. Users can install it for free and receive virtual coins for the time they spend playing. These coins allow them to buy and sell characters, weapons, skins and other digital items in the game's marketplace using non fungible token (NFT) technology.

Users can also use their characters to collaborate in the development of the blockchain associated with the game and be rewarded with more coins. These novel possibilities have sparked great interest among gamers and cryptocurrency investors.

The game developers launched a crowdfunding campaign in October 2021, in which contributors could purchase exclusive characters to fund the game's development. The pre-sale, conducted in two phases, was a resounding success: all items offered sold out within minutes. In total, 'Battle Hero' raised $1.5 million.

After a year of intense work by the Be a Lion team, which is split between Andorra and Barcelona, the development of the game has been completed and preparations for the launch are being finalized. In the meantime, a beta version has been released for the Android platform and already has more than 10,000 downloads. The comments of the first users have served to polish the game before its official release.

The idea of 'Battle Hero' was born from the Andorran entrepreneur Rubén Martín, CEO of Be a Lion, and the Catalan programmer Francisco Denia, CTO of the company. After years collaborating in the development of applications and web pages, they decided to focus on mobile games. Initially, they wanted to create a conventional shooter game in the style of Fortnite or Call of Duty, but then the option arose to combine it with the boom in cryptocurrencies and NFTs. The proposal has been so well liked that, in addition to sweeping their crowdfunding campaigns, they have received offers from prominent investors.

"Last year, a Spanish businessman from the Forbes list offered us half a million euros for a 33% stake in the company, after seeing just a few renders of the game and the record collection we obtained in the crowdfunding. We didn't accept it, because it wasn't from the industry and didn't bring anything more than capital. Battle Hero' is a project created by gamers and for gamers, and we want to continue maintaining the independence and disruptive spirit with which it was born", explains Rubén Martín, CEO of Be a Lion.

'Battle Hero' will be available for Android/iOS, Windows and Mac platforms. After the launch, the company plans to develop its own wallet for the management of users' NFTs, organize periodic tournaments for players and open to the community the possibility of collaborating in the creation of new game modes and maps.
