About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Family Vision Optical Welcomes Dr. Amanda Bancroft to Their Eye Care Team

Allendale Charter Township, Michigan -

Allendale, MI — Family Vision Optical is excited to announce that they have added Amanda Bancroft, O.D., to their staff to support both their main office and the Rejuvenation Dry Eye Center. Located at 6101 Lake Michigan Dr. Suite B-700, Allendale, MI 49401, Dr. Bancroft will bring her talents and compassion to the Family Vision Optical team. A skilled optometrist and a certified Personalized Nutrition Practitioner through the Ocular Wellness and Nutrition Society, Dr. Bancroft specializes in customized, whole-body treatment for patients of all ages.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Bancroft join our team at Family Vision Optical,” said founder and practicing optometrist Nick Lillie, O.D. “When it comes to treating eye conditions, the health of the entire body matters. A robust, healthy body has a much easier time healing itself than one that lacks proper nutrition or doesn’t get enough sleep. Dr. Bancroft’s holistic approach to eye care fits in well with our operating philosophy.”

Dr. Amanda Bancroft of Family Vision Optical in Allendale, MI

Originally from Boyertown, Pennsylvania, Dr. Bancroft received a degree in chemistry from Saint Francis University before attending the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, where she earned her doctorate. Her interest in eye care goes all the way back to elementary school.

“By the time I was in third grade, I needed a very strong vision prescription,” recalls Dr. Bancroft. “My eye doctor was so nice and patient, so I would often eagerly anticipate each visit, and knew that I wanted to give that same feeling to patients when I grew up. While in college, I joined her office as a technician and saw firsthand the significance she had in patients’ lives, which only strengthened my resolve.”

Experienced and extensively trained, Dr. Bancroft specializes in comprehensive primary eye care, ocular surface disease treatment, specialty and scleral lens fittings, and low vision rehabilitation. She particularly enjoys treating eye diseases, including dry eye syndrome. The eye disease management plans she creates for her patients are tailored specifically to their needs.

“One of many things I admire about the exemplary eye care she provides is her ability to form personal connections with her patients,” added Dr. Lillie. “She tells the patients ‘Look, we’re in this together. We’re walking a path now as a team, and at the end of that path is clear, healthy vision.’ And that really helps a patient who is scared about their eyesight, because now they know she’s not just a lab coat with a prescription pad — she’s fully committed to giving them exactly what they need.”

When she’s not serving patients, Dr. Bancroft can be found exploring Michigan’s great outdoors with her fiancé, Chris. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, gardening, strength training, and reading.

Family Vision Optical is accepting appointments for new and existing patients. People who want to schedule an appointment should call their office at (616) 219 – 8153.
