About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Locke, NY Author Publishes Sherlock Holmes Compendium

By: PR Leap
(PRLeap.com) "Who's Who in Baker Street", a new book by David Cameron Dunn, Ph. D., has been released by RoseDog Books.

"Who's Who in Baker Street" was written to appeal to the thousands of Sherlock Holmes fans who would enjoy a different approach to their thirst for facts about the Master. It should appeal to the many Holmes Fan Clubs and organizations such as the Baker Street Irregulars. Following the "Who's Who" section of the book, the sixty synopses should provide a handy abbreviated reading of all the tales of the canon.

About the Author
David Cameron Dunn, Ph. D. was born in 1934 in Loma Linda, California, and graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in San Diego in 1951. His abiding interest in "the world's only consulting detective" first began in 1948 when he purchased the 1,323-page The Complete Sherlock Holmes. This interest has persisted ever since, and the well-worn, re-bound volume has never left the author's side. Dunn completed a four-year active tour of duty in the United States Air Force (1952-1956) and was honorably discharged with the rank of staff sergeant. In 1958, taking advantage of the Korean War GI Bill, Dunn began his higher education at Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration in Ithaca, New York. There, he received his BS in 1962, his MS in 1965, and his PhD in 1970. He remained on the Hotel School's financial management faculty for more than thirty years, retiring in 1994 as professor emeritus. The author and his beloved wife, Elaine Joyce, celebrated their sixty-sixth wedding anniversary in 2019; in early 2020, she left for a better place at the age of eighty-three. Among the author's other works are Deutsch From Scratch: an Elementary Approach to Learning German and The N*O*V*O Nostalgia Movie Quiz and Information Book, both published by Dorrance.

"Who's Who in Baker Street" is a 412-page paperback with a retail price of $34.00 (eBook $29.00). The ISBN is 979-8-89649-224-5. It was published by RoseDog Books of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. To buy the book, visit our online bookstore at https://rosedogbookstore.com/who-s-who-in-baker-street/
