About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

MaGO PR to Lead Specialized Public Relations Campaigns for the Presidio Trust

By: PRLog

The communications firm will drive multicultural media relations efforts within the park's 2023 destination campaign

LOS ANGELES - March 31, 2023 - PRLog -- The Presidio of San Francisco, one of America's most visited national park sites within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, has selected MaGO PR, a full-service 360° bilingual PR/Communications firm, to lead specialized multicultural media relations. The agency will help build awareness for the Presidio's many amenities, including summer programs and events and activities around the park.

Since its inception, the Presidio Trust has prioritized welcoming underrepresented audiences through integrated marketing, media, and community grass-roots outreach. The 2022 award-winning "Free to Be" campaign for the new 14-acre Presidio Tunnel Tops parkland was hugely successful towards those goals, with recent studies demonstrating that visitor demographics match those of the greater nine-county Bay Area, and the "likely to recommend" score has increased year over year.

Building on this momentum, MaGO PR will address several visitor segments to ensure that the Presidio delivers national park experiences to urban audiences who have been traditionally left out or underrepresented in national parks, as well as promoting the many businesses in the park who through their rents support the park's operation. In addition to in-language Spanish and Chinese media, MaGO PR will engage several visitor segments such as people with disabilities and LGBTQ visitors. Activity will run year-round but the campaign's key components will run during the park's prime seasonality period of mid-April to late October. In an integrated approach, Most Likely To, a San Francisco-based creative services firm, will deliver on a paid media campaign.

"I am excited to join the Presidio Trust team and to be part of furthering their ongoing efforts of diversity and inclusion. The Presidio is not only a major Bay Area landmark but also an important park in our national park system," said Marco Gonzalez, CEO & Founder, MaGO PR.  "MaGO PR is grateful for this opportunity and is looking forward to amplifying Presidio's genuine message of inclusivity and access for all the diverse communities that comprise the Bay Area."

The recently founded, MaGo PR, a play on words on its founder Marco Antonio Gonzalez's full name and the Spanish-language word "mago," which translates to wizard in English, is a full-service 360° multicultural PR firm that specializes in entertainment publicity, executive corporate communications, issues management, employee communications, community relations, DEI and media training, and English/Spanish translation services in both general and Hispanic markets.

The Presidio is one of America's most visited national park sites, located within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Spanning 1,500 acres next to San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, the Presidio is among the most biologically diverse parks in America. Historically a home to native peoples and a military post under three flags, its facilities have been reinvented as museums, restaurants, hotels, homes, and offices. The Presidio Trust is the federal agency that stewards the Presidio, in partnership with the National Park Service and with support from the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy.
