About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Ragin' Tails Seafood Co. Will Donate Grand Opening Tip Proceeds to Texas Flood Relief Efforts

By: PRLog
Ragin' Tails, a seafood company in the greater Austin, Texas area known for their crawfish boils and seafood offerings, announced that they will donate all tips and a portion of proceeds from their restaurant grand opening to help with flood disaster relief in Texas.

AUSTIN, Texas - July 10, 2025 - PRLog -- As Texas continues to recover from the devastating floods and storms that recently swept through the region, a local business is stepping up to support the community. Ragin' Tails Seafood Co., a new seafood restaurant, announced that it will donate 100% of the tips collected and a portion of proceeds during its Grand Opening on Saturday, July 12, 2025, to flood relief efforts across the state.

The restaurant, which specializes in Southern crawfish boils, shrimp and snow crab legs with bold, original flavor, is making this contribution through the Austin Disaster Relief Network (@ADRN), a nonprofit organization dedicated to coordinating long-term disaster response in Central Texas. ADRN is widely respected for its commitment to helping displaced families rebuild their lives after natural disasters. By donating through ADRN, Ragin' Tails Seafood Co. aims to ensure that the funds go directly toward impactful, long-term recovery efforts.

"This is more than just a restaurant launch—it's a chance for us to give back to a community that's hurting," said co-owner A.J. Almeda. "After the devastating impact the storms had, we knew we wanted our grand opening to be about more than just crawfish boils and celebration. We wanted to band together as a community to support our fellow Texans."

Co-owner Jon Humble added, "The recent flooding has left thousands of Texans in urgent need of help, and we believe it's our responsibility to step up in a way that we can to help with long-term relief."

Torrential rain and severe storms have caused widespread flooding across many parts of Texas, damaging homes, displacing families, and leaving many without access to basic necessities. While emergency crews and first responders have been working tirelessly to provide immediate aid, the need for long-term support is immense.

ADRN, the organization that Ragin' Tails has decided to donate through, provides everything from emergency housing and food to counseling and rebuilding assistance. Their long-term recovery work ensures that families are not forgotten once the media coverage fades and initial aid recedes.

Guests attending the Grand Opening of Ragin' Tails on July 12 can enjoy a full menu of seafood including boiled crawfish, shrimp, snow crab legs, and mussels while knowing their tips will go toward making a real difference in the lives of fellow Texans.

"Texas crawfish boils have always been about family, friends, and community. It's about getting together and sharing a meal. We feel that this is an opportunity for us to share a meal to support those that can't join us right now," said A.J. Almeda.

Jon Humble added, "We hope our grand opening can be a moment of light in a dark time—and a way to bring people together for a cause that matters."

Ragin' Tails' Grand Opening is a 90's Country Party emceed by DJ Skinny with Ragin' Tails Seafood Co's Full Menu with 90's country music, a dance floor, a bounce house, games, and more. It will be held from 4pm to 8pm on Saturday, July 12th, and the public is encouraged to attend, eat well, and give generously.
