About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Adostics & Genmega Announce the Introduction of A-POD

By: PRLog
New Product Transforms Slot Machine Funding with Secure Digital Vouchers

LAS VEGAS - July 9, 2025 - PRLog -- Adostics, Inc., a Las Vegas-based casino technology startup reshaping how casinos engage with players, has selected Genmega, a leading global manufacturer of ATM, kiosk and PCB board hardware, to produce the Adostics A-POD, a first-of-its-kind, in-game hardware solution that delivers Bluetooth-enabled digital funding for casinos and route operators across North America.

A-POD enables existing slot machines to "Accept" digital vouchers – allowing players to use digital payment methods like Apple Pay® to fund their favorite games. Adostics interfaces with payment service providers (PSPs) to process transactions between the patron and the casino operator. Apple Pay® is being introduced as the initial payment method in this innovative digital voucher delivery solution for the gaming market.

A-POD's rapid design and production were made possible by Genmega's recent $50 million investment in state-of-the-art PCB manufacturing and automation equipment. This partnership enables Adostics to fulfill high-volume production orders at a global scale, leveraging Genmega's precision-engineered, 10-step automated manufacturing process to ensure quality and performance.

Adostics has selected Genmega as the contract manufacturer of the initial rollout of A-POD (Accept), with anticipated D-POD (Data) and E-POD (Engage) for enhanced player loyalty solutions.

"We're doing more than enabling digital payments, we're unlocking an entirely new way for casinos to engage with players," said Rob Bone, CEO of Adostics. "We're proud to partner with a manufacturer whose advanced capabilities and operational credibility are second to none. Genmega gives us the ability to scale rapidly and respond immediately to growing customer demand."

A-POD seamlessly integrates with existing slot floor infrastructure including slot machines, bill validators, payment kiosks and TITO systems, requiring no changes to casino operations or internal controls. Players can securely fund gameplay using Apple Pay® via Bluetooth and Adostics' exclusive IP, with no player loyalty cards, mobile apps or logins required.

Behind the scenes, Adostics' proprietary nodal mesh data transport layer delivers real-time, high-fidelity player session data – enabling operators to respond instantly to player behavior. At the heart of A-POD is Genmega's custom-built motherboard. Drawing on decades of expertise in self-service financial terminals, the platform ensures secure encrypted communication, high-speed processing and plug-and-play compatibility across all major slot machine manufacturers. Future POD solutions will deliver real-time, high-fidelity player session data.

"Genmega's reputation is built on performance and reliability," said Wes Dunn, Chief Revenue Officer of Genmega. "With A-POD, we've extended that DNA into gaming with a ruggedized, scalable platform engineered for today's casino floor and tomorrow's innovation."
