About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

What Can You Really Claim Without Receipts? Clear Tax Explains What's Allowed This Tax Season

By: PRLog
Clear Tax Accountants shares helpful guidance on claiming tax deductions without receipts in 2025.

RICHMOND, Australia - Aug. 18, 2025 - PRLog -- With the 2025 tax season already underway, a common question is coming up across Australia: Can you claim deductions without receipts?

The answer is yes, but only in certain cases, and always within clear rules set by the ATO.

At Clear Tax Accountants, we've seen many clients get caught out for thinking they can "guestimate" their expenses or rely on memory alone. This approach can cause more problems than it solves.

So, What's Actually Allowed?

The ATO allows individuals to claim up to $300 in total work-related expenses without receipts. However, these expenses must still be real and connected to earning your income. You also need to be able to show how you worked it out if asked.

"A lot of people believe they're allowed to claim $300 no matter what, but that's not how it works," says Ash Jindal, Director at Clear Tax Accountants. "You still need to have spent the money, and you need a reasonable explanation behind the claim."

What Counts as Proof Without a Receipt?

Even if you don't have a receipt, you can still support your claim with:
  • Bank or credit card statements
  • Diary entries or calendar records
  • A written summary of your expenses

These are especially useful if you lost the original receipt or made a purchase online.

What About Car and Travel Deductions?

Travel claims are another area where people go wrong. If you're claiming car expenses, you need a logbook or a consistent record of work-related trips. A guess or rough total won't be enough.

The ATO looks for patterns, and repeated claims without evidence can trigger a review.

Honest Mistakes Can Still Cost You

We understand that receipts go missing. But guessing your deductions or inflating figures could lead to penalties. That's why our team helps clients stay within ATO guidelines without losing out on what they're rightfully owed.

"Even if you're not sure what can be claimed, we'll help you get clarity," says Jindal. "It's always better to ask than to assume."

At Clear Tax Accountants, we offer reliable support for personal and business tax returns, including advice on what to do if your paperwork is incomplete.

If you've got questions this tax season, we're ready to help you file with confidence.
