About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

"Flathead Lake: A Montana Album" Captures the Spirit of Glacier National Park and the Rockies in Immersive Dolby Atmos

By: PRLog
A cross-continental team of acclaimed collaborators reimagines Wayo Hogan's Montana Stillwater into a sweeping, multi-instrumental celebration of the Montana Rockies

BIGFORK, Mont. - Sept. 16, 2025 - PRLog -- Flathead Lake: A Montana Album takes listeners on a journey through the awe-inspiring landscapes of Glacier National Park, Flathead Lake, and the Montana Rockies. The album reimagines Seattle legend Wayo Hogan's 2024 solo piano album Montana Stillwater into expansive, multi-instrumental soundscapes. Guided from concept to completion by producer Scott R. Hansen, the project captures the spirit of the northern Rockies in stunning detail.

At the heart of the album is the Dolby Atmos immersive mix, designed to evoke the feeling of Montana's wide-open spaces, shimmering waters, and towering peaks. "Our goal was to recreate the sensation of standing on the shores of Flathead Lake or hiking in Glacier, where the beauty surrounds you in every direction," said Hansen.

Cross-Continental Collaboration

The project unites acclaimed talent from across borders and genres:
  • Aritra C, the India-based arranger and engineer known for his versatility across continents and styles, transformed Hogan's intimate piano originals into lush, multi-instrumental soundscapes, adding strings, winds, and percussion that mirror the region's rugged majesty.
  • Jennifer Ortiz, the highly regarded immersive engineer who contributed to Rhapsody's Grammy-winning track "3:AM", brought her expertise to the Dolby Atmos mixes. Her work recreates the spacious beauty of Glacier National Park and the gentle charm of Flathead Lake with stunning realism.
  • Ileni Joseph, a Namibian video editor, joined the team to create a sweeping cinematic music video for the title track. Combining breathtaking footage of Glacier National Park and its wildlife, the video will premiere in November 2025.
Both Hansen and Aritra C received nominations at the Hollywood Independent Music Awards for their work on this project.

"Working with Aritra, Jennifer, and Ileni allowed us to expand Wayo's heartfelt piano into something cinematic and immersive, a true celebration of Montana's landscapes," Hansen said.

Rooted in Place, Inspired by Nature

Every track on Flathead Lake: A Montana Album reflects a facet of the northern Rockies: the shimmering waters of Flathead Lake, the wildlife that roams Glacier's valleys, and the timeless calm of alpine stillness.

"Montana has a magic that is both intimate and grand," said Hogan. "Hearing these pieces expanded into immersive arrangements feels like standing at the edge of Glacier, small in the face of something eternal."

The album and its collaborators have been entered into several categories for the Grammy Awards, including:
  • Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical (Jennifer Ortiz & Aritra C)
  • Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella (Aritra C for Flathead Lake)
  • Best Liner Notes (Scott R. Hansen)
  • Best Immersive Album (Jennifer Ortiz & Scott R. Hansen)
  • Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album (Flathead Lake: A Montana Album)
First-round voting for the Grammy Awards begins October 3, 2025.

Flathead Lake: A Montana Album is available now on Apple Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, and Spotify.
