About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Nadrich Accident Injury Lawyers Opposes Cuts to Federal Firefighter Safety Programs

Nadrich Accident Injury Lawyers opposes the Trump administration’s cuts to federal programs intended to keep firefighters safe.

(PRUnderground) May 22nd, 2025

Nadrich Accident Injury Lawyers, a California-based personal injury law firm, opposes cuts that President Donald Trump’s administration has made to federal programs responsible for keeping firefighters safe.

“Firefighters keep us all safe, and these cuts could not have come at a worse time, as the rate of catastrophic wildfires is increasing in California and other parts of the nation,” said Jeffrey Nadrich, the firm’s founding attorney, referring to wildfires like the Eaton fire.

The Fire Fighter Fatality Investigation and Prevention Program, part of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is responsible for:

  • Pinpointing what went wrong after firefighters die
  • Identifying how to avoid similar deaths in the future

On April 1, the Trump administration notified seven of the eight members of the program that they were laid off or will be laid off in June. This negatively impacts the first responders in charge of wildfire containment.

“With wildfires like the January 2025 Southern California wildfires becoming more common, these cuts will make it more likely that firefighters will die in the line of duty,” Nadrich said.

Layoff notices reportedly told the employees that their duties were found to be “unnecessary or virtually identical” to those performed elsewhere in HHS.

In addition, the administration has also made moves to halt a study on the causes of cancer cases in firefighters and disrupt a program providing healthcare to first responders who responded to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

The National Firefighter Registry for Cancer was created in 2018. Its purpose is to study why firefighters end up suffering from some types of cancer at higher rates than average people. April 1 saw the Trump administration begin to lay off much of the staff which was working on the registry.

“Firefighters are becoming increasingly important in society, so we need more efforts to protect them, not less,” Nadrich said.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the HHS Secretary, has publicly indicated that some of the World Trade Center program’s aspects may be spared.
