About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College and eCampus.com Unveiling New Online Bookstore and Campus Store

Through this partnership, the new online bookstore will provide access to affordable course materials, while the revitalized campus store will deliver an enhanced retail experience tailored to student needs.

(PRUnderground) July 14th, 2025

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College has selected eCampus.com to serve as its official course materials provider. Beginning Summer 2025, eCampus.com will manage and operate the college’s campus store while delivering a full-service online bookstore platform. Cincinnati State is a public, two-year institution offering over 130 associate degree programs, majors, and certificates, along with three bachelor’s degree programs. This partnership marks eCampus.com’s 32nd partnership in the state of Ohio.

After a thorough evaluation process, eCampus.com was selected for its strong alignment with Cincinnati State’s mission to enhance the student and faculty experience. Key benefits of this partnership include exceptional customer service, a broad selection of affordable course materials, and a seamless Inclusive Access (IA) program that automatically provides first day access to course content digitally through Blackboard, the college’s learning management system (LMS). The IA program is offered across nearly 100 courses and the materials are included in the course fee – often at a significantly reduced cost compared to traditional textbooks. Through a customized online storefront, students will have access to new, used, and rental textbooks, digital content, and a wide network of third-party marketplace sellers. The platform’s 24/7 dedicated customer support ensures assistance is always available.

eCampus.com’s platform will seamlessly integrate with Cincinnati State’s Student Information System, enabling a tailored ordering experience through Single Sign-On (SSO). This streamlined process allows students to conveniently purchase course materials while registering for classes. To further enhance convenience, eCampus.com will provide free shipping directly to the Cincinnati State Campus Store, where students can easily pick up their orders and shop a refreshed selection of Cincy State emblematic apparel and merchandise.

For faculty, the eCampus.com intuitive online adoption platform empowers instructors with the academic freedom to research and select the best course materials, regardless of publisher or platform. It also offers robust adoption metrics and a student readiness dashboard, providing real-time insights into student purchasing behavior. These tools enable both faculty and administrators to make informed decisions that support and enhance student success.

eCampus.com will bring its retail management expertise to Cincinnati State by taking over operation of the campus’s brick-and-mortar store, elevating the space with an expanded selection of Cincy State-branded merchandise. Scheduled to reopen on July 14, 2025 as the Cincinnati State Campus Store, the refreshed location will offer a wide variety of apparel, accessories, and gifts to suit every budget. The store will also serve as a convenient service center for course materials, providing order pickup, seasonal buyback and rental return events, and on-site customer support to meet all student textbook and material needs.

“Collaborating with Cincinnati State marks an exciting step forward in showcasing how innovative hybrid bookstore solutions can enhance academic performance and elevate the college’s brand,” said Matt Montgomery, President and CEO of eCampus.com. “Through our best-in-class affordable rental program and convenient on-campus pickup, we’re transforming the way students and faculty access course materials. Combined with our focus on a localized campus retail experience that breathes new life into the Cincinnati State brand, eCampus.com is redefining what it means to serve today’s campus communities.”

This partnership between Cincinnati State and eCampus.com reflects a shared commitment to innovation, affordability, and student-centered service. By combining cutting-edge technology with a revitalized on-campus retail experience, the new online bookstore and campus store will play a key role in enhancing academic success, supporting faculty, and strengthening campus community engagement for years to come.
