About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Dr. Yochum & Saleem Musallam Present on Spinal Decompression at NYSCA Spring Convention

Dr. Terry Yochum & Excite Medical CEO Saleem Musallam Deliver Highly Anticipated Lecture on Spinal Decompression at the New York State Chiropractic Association Spring Convention

(PRUnderground) September 11th, 2025

The New York State Chiropractic Association (NYSCA) welcomed renowned radiologist Dr. Terry Yochum and Saleem Musallam, CEO of Excite Medical, as featured speakers at its 2025 Spring Convention. The joint lecture, which addressed advances in radiology and spine care, was very well received by attendees.

Focus on Clinical Excellence

Dr. Terry Yochum, one of the most respected figures in chiropractic radiology, presented an in-depth session on advanced use of MRI imaging. His lecture provided practical strategies for physicians to better leverage imaging to improve patient outcomes, detect risks earlier, and enhance care for those suffering from low back pain, herniated discs, and bulging discs.

Saleem Musallam spoke on healthcare policy, spine research, and the importance of collaborative efforts between clinicians, researchers, and industry to advance the standard of care for spinal patients. Drawing from his experience as a healthcare systems engineer and leader in spine innovation, Musallam emphasized how evidence-based approaches can improve treatment pathways and reduce dependence on invasive procedures.

Excite Medical’s Role at the Convention

In addition to the educational lectures, Excite Medical participated as an exhibitor in the vendor hall, where attendees could meet the team learn and demo the DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Machine. The DRX9000 is recognized globally as the best spinal decompression machine, relied upon by physicians around the world as a proven non-surgical treatment for low back pain, herniated discs, and bulging discs.

Advancing Research in Spinal Decompression

The lectures also highlighted the importance of ongoing clinical research. Currently, a randomized, double-blinded clinical trial is being conducted at the University of South Florida under the direction of Dr. Nathan Schilaty, DC, PhD, and Dr. Kenneth A. Weber II, DC, PhD of Stanford University.

This active IRB-approved study (NCT06525896) is evaluating the outcomes of non-surgical spinal decompression therapy for chronic low back pain using advanced MRI, motion capture, and patient-reported outcomes. The results of this high-quality research are expected to provide critical evidence supporting the role of spinal decompression as a non-surgical alternative for patients worldwide.

About Excite Medical
