About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

David Murray joins VeraViews as Demand Director

The experienced commercial operator will help VeraViews in its mission to increase trust and value across the media ecosystem

London, UK - 18th January 2023: VeraViews, the advertising technology platform built to deliver transparent and auditable invalid traffic (IVT) prevention, is delighted to announce the appointment of David Murray as Demand Director.

David is a London-based commercial specialist with a wealth of advertising industry knowledge acquired during his time at a number of the largest, most commercially successful and well-known ad and media brands in the UK.

Working within the rapidly expanding VeraViews sales team, David will lead demand sales, onboarding Supply Side Platforms (SSPs), Demand Side Platforms (DSPs) and Digital Advertising Networks into the VeraViews end-to-end ad stack. He will also support VeraViews’ mission to remove ad fraud from video advertising, increasing trust and value across the media ecosystem.

David will work alongside and support the sales development aims of Dan Hodgson, VeraViews' Head of Business Development; and Sandip Ray, VeraViews' Publishing Director, to expand commercial opportunities.

Through strategic planning and dynamic thinking, as well as an ability to establish strong and fruitful relationships across all areas of the industry, David has been instrumental in driving commercial growth for brands such as Hearst, Stylist Media and The Official Charts Company in a media career spanning 13 years.

David’s deep knowledge of digital advertising - specifically the inner workings of UK media companies - coupled with his passion for video, make him a perfect addition for VeraViews and the expansion of its demand proposition. His understanding of industry goals and pain points make David an ideal fit to grow VeraViews’ customer base yet further, developing an offering that truly meets fast-changing market needs.

Speaking on his new role and outlook for 2023, David says: “I am extremely excited to be joining the VeraViews team. Video media has been a passion of mine for years, and having seen the issues caused by invalid and bot traffic first-hand, I feel thrilled to be representing a truly innovative solution to these issues.

“Ultimately, I want to help advertisers and brands save money, while also working towards increasing the success of their marketing campaigns through higher performance metrics. I can’t wait to spread the word and support VeraViews in its mission to reduce ad fraud, increase transparency and bring trust and value back into the industry ecosystem.”

David started his role this month at a time when VeraViews continues its strong commercial expansion, having recently become a verified Amazon Ads Partner, been included on the IAB Global Vendor List, and hired two other senior team members to lead business development.

VeraViews uses patented Proof-of-View technology to record valid ad engagement and stores data immutably on an open ledger. This means that advertisers pay only for valid engagement. Its end-to-end ad-stack solution combines the transparency and accountability of open ledger technology with the security of Verasity’s patented Proof of View technology.
