About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Nikola (NASDAQ: NKLA) and BayoTech Partner for Advanced Hydrogen Transport and Supply

BayoTech Purchases Nikola Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles for Zero-Emission Hydrogen Transport

BayoTech, an industry-leading innovator in hydrogen production, transportation, and storage solutions, has recently signed an agreement to purchase up to 50 Nikola Class 8 hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles over the next five years. These zero-emission trucks will be deployed in partnership with BayoTech’s HyFill™ bulk hydrogen transport trailers for efficient and eco-friendly hydrogen transportation.

The first batch of these highly sought-after Nikola (NASDAQ: NKLA) trucks, known for their remarkable zero-tailpipe-emission range of up to 500 miles, is expected to be delivered in 2023 and 2024. This groundbreaking collaboration further cements BayoTech’s commitment to pioneering hydrogen delivery to local customers via zero-emission fuel cell trucks.

Nikola to Procure Low-Carbon Hydrogen from BayoTech Hubs

In a bid to maintain a reliable supply of low-carbon hydrogen for its zero-emission commercial fuel cell electric vehicle fleets, Nikola will procure hydrogen produced at BayoTech’s hubs in Missouri and California. The hydrogen production is slated to commence in Missouri within the year, with California following suit in 2024.

As the anchor hydrogen offtake customer, Nikola also plans to acquire up to 10 BayoTech HyFill™ transport trailers. This acquisition aims to expedite the distribution of high-pressure gaseous hydrogen from production sites to refueling stations that serve fuel cell electric vehicle fleets.

Shared Vision Fuels Nikola and BayoTech Collaboration

Michael Lohscheller, President and CEO of Nikola Corporation, emphasized the shared goal of both companies to enhance the accessibility of hydrogen throughout the United States. BayoTech’s low-carbon hydrogen fuel and transport equipment are crucial to the adoption of Nikola’s Class 8 fuel cell electric zero-emission trucks, he added.

Mo Vargas, President and CEO of BayoTech, lauded the partnership with Nikola as a key catalyst to spur the growth of the hydrogen ecosystem and accelerate the deployment of BayoTech’s hydrogen hub network.

Unraveling the Potential of Hydrogen with Nikola and BayoTech

BayoTech’s HyFill™ bulk hydrogen transport trailers are highly trusted by customers to transport hydrogen efficiently to distribution and dispensing sites, and eventually to end users. This includes retail refueling stations, backup power systems in remote areas, and industrial manufacturing sites.

With the partnership between Nikola and BayoTech, the potential of hydrogen as a viable, eco-friendly energy source is further unraveled, marking a significant step forward in the journey towards a zero-emission future.
