About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Kirkland, WA, February 13, 2025 — Northwest Family Law is pleased to announce the promotion of Mitchell Polonsky to Senior Attorney and the addition of Julia Chen as an Intake Specialist and Legal Assistant. These key personnel changes reflect the firm’s commitment to turning the pain of divorce to hope for a brighter future

Mitchell Polonsky Promoted to Senior Attorney

Mitchell Polonsky has been a vital part of Northwest Family Law, demonstrating exceptional dedication, skill, and leadership. His promotion to Senior Attorney recognizes his diligence, legal proficiency, and steadfast commitment to his clients.

“Promoting a senior attorney is a significant milestone that reflects dedication, expertise, and leadership within the firm,” said Monica Chin, Founding Partner. “Mitch is an outstanding attorney who embodies our firm’s values. I am confident in his ability to support clients in rebuilding their future.”

Originally from Los Angeles, Mitch pursued his passion for law at Seattle University, earning a degree in Criminal Justice before completing his legal education at Thomas M. Cooley Law School. His legal journey took him to Philip Greenberg Law Firm in Manhattan, where he gained invaluable experience before returning to Washington. Known for his meticulous trial preparation, strategic courtroom presence, and empathetic client approach, Mitch continues to be a formidable advocate in family law cases.

“I am honored by this promotion and excited about the opportunities ahead,” said Polonsky. “I look forward to continuing to grow with the firm and supporting our clients through challenging times.”

A devoted family man and passionate sports enthusiast, Mitch embodies the values of both personal and professional dedication. His leadership at Northwest Family Law will continue to strengthen the firm’s commitment to its clients.

Welcoming Julia Chen: Expanding Cultural and Linguistic Inclusivity

In November 2024, Northwest Family Law welcomed Julia Chen as an Intake Specialist and Legal Assistant. Fluent in Mandarin, Julia enhances the firm’s ability to serve Mandarin-speaking clients, making legal services more accessible to a diverse community.

“Northwest Family Law and our clients are fortunate to have Julia on board,” said Cecilia Ju, Attorney. “Family law is not just about legal representation-it’s about understanding culture and how it impacts each case. Having Julia here ensures we can better serve our Mandarin-speaking clients with the care and clarity they deserve.”

Julia has already made a significant impact by assisting with case openings and contributing to the development of the firm’s Chinese-language website section. Her compassion, professionalism, and bilingual skills strengthen Northwest Family Law’s mission to provide inclusive and client-focused legal services.

Julia holds dual degrees from the University of Washington and spent a decade in China working in education, curriculum development, and music. Her international experience and linguistic fluency make her an invaluable asset to the firm.

Outside of work, the family lawyer enjoys spending time with her two children and pursuing her passion for music.
