Attorney Marisol Garcia, Attorney Yolanda Fox, and Attorney Matthew Person are joining the ranks of a major South Florida family law firm, more than doubling the firm’s current attorney count and turning the firm into a powerhouse of legal excellence.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida, February 1, 2025 — Divorce & Mediation Law Firm | Cabanas Law Firm is pleased to announce their recent expansion – adding three attorneys to their roster. By joining their talent with Attorney Sergio Cabanas and Attorney Laura Grossman, Attorney Marisol Garcia, Attorney Yolanda Fox, and Attorney Matthew Person are confident they will be able to better serve the needs of clients in South Florida who are dealing with complex family issues like divorce.

Attorney Yolanda Fox has been a dedicated family law attorney and community advocate for nearly three decades. Admitted to the Florida Bar in 1995, she has extensive litigation experience in every area of family law. She founded the Fox Family Law Center, P.A., served as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem since 2012, and served for a decade as a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator. She has facilitated resolutions in high contentious cases, which is close to the heart of Divorce & Mediation Law Firm | Cabanas Law Firm’s mission of helping clients pursue non-toxic divorce options.

Yolanda is a Board Member for Next Level Moms, a non-profit Ministry focused on equipping and educating Moms through Biblically-based programs; she has also been the Co-chair of the Single Moms Circle Ministry since 2023. She brings not only tremendous skill and passion for advocating for children and families across the community to her clients’ cases, but also a track record of proven results that can give her clients confidence that their case is in great hands. She offers an ability to adapt to legal challenges, and she truly cares about making her clients’ lives better.

Attorney Matthew Person earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 2009, specializing in International Law. He has a background in chemical engineering from the University of Arkansas, worked as a state-to-state lobbyist for the recycling industry, and founded Person Law in 2013. Person Law focused on family law, immigration, and civil litigation.

As he joins Sergio Cabanas’s team, he is excited to offer his unique background and knowledge to family law clients. Because of his engineering degree, he has an eye for detail, efficiency, and problem-solving; because of his lobbying work, he has a passion for effective advocacy; and because of his familiarity with international law, he is uniquely positioned to help with family disputes that span borders or involve immigration issues. Mathew is committed to integrity, diligence, and achieving favorable outcomes for his clients.

Attorney Marisol Garcia began her career at age 18 as a legal assistant, followed by years as a paralegal while pursuing her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami, where she graduated in 2002. For over 15 years, she managed a private law practice in Miami Springs, which focused on family law, probate, and civil disputes. She later served as an Assistant State Attorney with Florida’s Child Support Program.

Marisol is a mom who keeps the children’s best interests at the heart of any case involving families that she handles. She believes in resolving matters with minimal stress, prioritizing out-of-court settlements whenever possible; her goal – to provide families with practical solutions that protect their well-being and preserve harmony – goes hand in hand with Divorce & Mediation Law Firm | Cabanas Law Firm’s.
