About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Craig Wiener Joins Alden Investment Group as Director of Market Strategy

Memphis, TN – Alden Investment Group proudly announces the appointment of Craig Wiener as its new Director of Market Strategy.

A seasoned investment strategist with over 30 years of experience in market analysis and tactical asset management, Craig brings a wealth of knowledge and innovative strategies to the firm.

Craig’s career in financial services began in 1985. In 1994, he began focusing on Point-and-Figure charting (PNF), establishing himself as a technical market strategy leader. Prior to joining Alden, he was at Realta Wealth, where his proprietary research and data-driven methodologies helped investors navigate complex market conditions.

His decision to join Alden was motivated by the opportunity to enhance client outcomes through a fee-based model, fostering greater alignment with client interests and long-term investment success. Additionally, Alden’s youthful leadership and growth potential were significant factors in his decision, aligning with his vision for a dynamic and innovative financial firm.

In his new role, Craig will oversee market research, strategic asset allocation, and portfolio optimization. As a key member of Alden’s Investment Committee, he will work to identify trends and optimize investment strategies in equities, fixed income, alternative investments, and long/short strategies. His responsibilities will also include thought leadership, client education, and product development, ensuring Alden remains at the forefront of investment innovation.

Craig’s contributions to the industry extend beyond portfolio management. A protégé of Tom Dorsey, founder of Nasdaq Dorsey Wright, Craig was featured in Dorsey’s book Thriving as a Broker in the 21st Century. His market insights are widely sought after.

A former University of Tennessee basketball scholarship athlete and three-time Maccabi Games participant representing the United States, Craig brings the same discipline and strategic mindset to his financial career that he applied to competitive sports.

“I am thrilled to be joining Alden Investment Group as Director of Market Strategy,” said Craig Wiener. “This role allows me to leverage my proprietary research to drive client success while contributing to the firm’s continued growth. The combination of Alden’s innovative platform, strong leadership, and commitment to client-centric strategies makes this an exciting next chapter in my career.”

Aaron Williams, Alden’s Chief Growth Officer said, “Craig’s knowledge and experience with tactical asset allocation and risk-adjusted broad market analysis further enhances our ability to deliver investment solutions to clients directly and on our advisors’ behalf. His deep understanding of technical research and ability to translate market signals into actionable strategies will complement our endowment models, investment funds and open architecture UMAs. Craig’s insights will be crucial in conveying market sentiment and opportunity to our clients and advisors. Overall, this is a great signing for Alden, as his research and trading capabilities take our asset management team and investment committee to another level.”

Lee Calfo, Alden’s Chief Executive Officer said, “Craig brings to Alden unique insights and a passion for market research that we are excited to add to the evaluation and decision making processes for our investment strategies. His enthusiasm for investing and many market cycles of close observations of broad asset categories and individual securities is a great combination for our firm.”

Craig will be based in Memphis, Tennessee, where he will continue to take on and serve his existing client base with customized market strategy insights and risk-adjusted investment solutions.
