About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Revolutionary watch concept inspired by the Corvette C2 - Soon on Kickstarter

Louis Chevrolet Swiss Watches to launch on Kickstarter a revolutionary and patented watch strap changing system

Louis Chevrolet’s Legacy

Louis Chevrolet Swiss Watches is based in Porrentruy, in the Swiss Jura, cradle of the Swiss watchmaking. Completely independent from General Motors, the owner of the famous Chevrolet car brand, the watch company is designing and commercializing timepieces since 2006, paying tribute to the eponymous man of Swiss origin,  who founded in 1911 the “Chevrolet Motor Car Company of Michigan”. As we enter 2022, the company will be back on Kickstarter on March 8th, with a new Swiss Made automatic model featuring its unique and patented watch strap changing system: the Speedway LC17

A 1963 C2 Corvette inspiration

Directly inspired from the automotive world, this watch collection will freely display its inspiration. The 1963 Corvette C2, the team’s principal influence, is ever-present: the colors of the Speedway LC17 come from the official bodywork of this iconic car, considered to be the first American roadster. As a reference to the speedways – the origin of the collection’s name- and on which the Corvettes were immortalized, the dials of these timepieces are also stamped with an asphalt design.

Committed to its origins, the LC17 features a side plate engraved with Louis Chevrolet’s motto “Never Give Up”. The number 8, with which the driver won many races, can be seen on the textured crown specially designed for drivers : it provides a better grip, even when wearing gloves.

High-end segment at an attractive price

Numerous finishes, usually reserved for the high-end segment, complement these elements: the 316L stainless steel case is satin-finished and polished, while the bezels and appliques are mirror-polished. The diamond-cut hands of this model are also luminescent, thanks to the Superluminova GLC1. The LC17 has a domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides and a back see-through crystal decorated with a Corvette C2 rim motif, so the movement can be seen.

It is indeed the first modified manufacture caliber to be featured in one of the company’s models. Based on a 2824-2 caliber with 25 jewels, the LC3H.D.A is assembled, adjusted and decorated in the Swiss Jura workshops, hearth of the Swiss watchmaking.

A revolutionary watch strap changing concept

In addition to its top-of-the-range finishes, this timepiece features the patented strap-changing system developed by the Louis Chevrolet team, which had already made its ladies’ models a success. In less than 10 seconds, it allows an easy and tool-free strap change. To offer the possibility of matching the watch to all occasions, 3 straps are included in all packaging : high quality leather, sporty silicone and classy steel Milanese mesh band!
