About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Everything We Know About Ghost of YōTei So Far

I remember when Ghost of Tsushima was first released, and I instantly fell in love with everything about the game.

Being a samurai felt amazing, as the game was incredibly detailed and the gameplay was breathtaking. However, there’s something new to look forward to, and its Ghost of YōTei, which will feature a new story and a new protagonist.

The game is currently up for pre-order on the PlayStation 5. However, it is best that you keep yourself prepared to download it the moment it releases. In that case, it will be wise to opt for an internet service that gives you an immaculate internet speed, like Xfinity Internet

This way, you can start playing the game as soon as it is out.

Now, coming back to the game. Though we don’t know much about it, we do know enough to say that the game is going to be a great one. Here’s everything we know till now.

The Release Date Isn’t Too Far

The first thing you would probably want to know about the game is the release date. Well, I’ll have you know that the release date isn’t too far, which gives you all the more reason to pre-order the game now.

The game is set to release on the 2nd of October this year, which thankfully isn’t too far away.

Once the clock strikes midnight, the game will be available to be downloaded, which will be your cue to go ahead and unleash your inner samurai.

So, if you want to access the game in time, then you should pre-order and pre-load. Like the winds of Ezo, you’ll need your internet connection by your side, since I believe the file size is going to be a hefty one.

It’s Going to Be a Story About Vengeance

Whether it’s The Last of Us Part II or the original God of War trilogy, everybody loves a good ol’ vengeance story. Luckily enough, Ghost of YōTei will be a vengeance story as well, which is why it is definitely on my list to play too.

In the game, you’ll play as the lone mercenary Atsu who lives on the outskirts of Japan in a place called Ezo, which is set at the edge of Japan.

Atsu has a hit list of her own as she tracks down the people who killed her family and hunts them down one by one. This group of murderers is infamously known as the Yotei Six, and it is up to Atsu to put a stop to them.

It Takes Place After the Events of Ghost of Tsushima

Yes, the game indeed takes place after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, but not right after it. The events of Ghost of YōTei take place 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, which means that there is a significant time gap between the games.

It also means that the game isn’t a direct sequel, making it a standalone title unrelated to the first game.

So, I’m actually looking forward to seeing the differences they bring to the game this time and whether we see a slightly more developed Japan or not. Either way, I’m excited to see what the game looks like.

You’ll Have More Freedom of Exploration

According to Sucker Punch, it will be up to the player on how they want to explore Ezo, since there will be no limitations in terms of the story. Even in the case of the Yotei Six, you can take them out in whatever pattern you want, as there isn’t a set order that you have to follow.

You can also traverse the areas of Ezo as you like and soak in the beauty of the cherry blossoms and other beautiful settings in the game.

Just make sure you soak it all in and don’t miss opportunities to explore the area. You should also do all the side missions so that you can delve deeper into the story and explore even more areas and events of the game.

It’ll Redefine Open World Settings

One of the many things that I loved about Ghost of Tsushima was the open world setting and how it captured the beauty of Japan. I remember there were certain moments in the game where I just put down my controller only so that I could take all the views in, and mind you, this was on the PlayStation 4.

Now that Ghost of YōTei is releasing on the PlayStation 5, I’m sure the game will be light years ahead in terms of graphics and scenes. We might even get a bigger map because of the PlayStation 5’s capabilities and faster SSD. I hope to see better exploration opportunities in Ghost of YōTei

Though there isn’t a lot of information about Ghost of YōTei, it still seems like a pretty promising sequel to an already stellar game. Now all we’ll have to do is wait for the game to release in October so that we can see for ourselves!
