Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward's former New York City home is for sale.

The former Hollywood power couple's penthouse in the upscale neighborhood of Carnegie Hill is on the market for $9.95 million, according to listings held by Noble Black and Jennifer Stillman of Douglas Elliman Real Estate. The home was listed by their children on behalf of Woodward, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2007. Newman died a year later in September 2008.

"In terms of timing, the response has been absolutely incredible," Black told FOX Business. "We've basically been camped out showing every day this week. Given the activity and offers received, we should have a deal by early next week."

Originally built in 1925, The New York Times reports the couple purchased the penthouse in the early 1980s and would call it home during their trips to New York from their primary residence in Westport, Connecticut.

Aside from housing the Hollywood legends, the home is also reported to have been where Newman and Woodward would host their friends in the industry, including Tom Cruise, Cher, Harry Belafonte and others.

Accessed through a private elevator, guests are immediately welcomed into the home with the grand foyer, leading to the living room on the right-hand side. The living room boasts many sought-after features, including a wood-burning fireplace, two built-in shelves under an arched wall, and many oversize windows, which bring in natural light.

One key highlight of the two-bedroom and two-bathroom home is the over 2,000 square feet of terraces, each with its own outdoor seating area, which provide immaculate views of Central Park and the Reservoir.

Elsewhere, through wooden French doors in the living room, guests can access the formal dining room, which boasts mixed-textured walls, dark hardwood flooring, wooden crown moldings and built-in wooden cabinetry.

Connected to the dining room is the spacious eat-in kitchen, which features a butler's pantry that has access to a second park-facing terrace. The kitchen also boasts white cabinets, providing plenty of storage space.

The home also features a spare room, which can be used as either an office or a third bedroom.

In addition, the room boasts built-in bookshelves, which line the doorway of the French doors that lead into the room from the foyer.

The home's luxurious primary bedroom boasts its own private seating area and its own wrap-around terrace, with stunning views of the city and plenty of natural light coming in. Connected to the primary bedroom are its sizable en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet.

A second bedroom can be found to the left of the foyer, and features its own full bathroom.

In addition to all the amenities inside the home, the apartment complex it is located in has a full array of enviable perks, including a 24-hour doorman, an exercise room, a bike room and many others.
