RealPage Redefines the Resident Experience

New multifamily platform will offer the industry’s most robust suite of resident-facing solutions delivering personalized, engaging experiences across the resident journey

RealPage, a leading global provider of software and data analytics to the real estate industry, today announced the development of a new resident-facing technology platform offering the most robust, personalized and digitally-optimized experience in the industry. Purpose-built to deliver a holistic, seamless experience from leasing to living, the new platform will offer a unified online leasing flow from prospect to move-in, including fraud detection technology, a move-in marketplace of services and offers, financial wellness tools and a loyalty platform.

Challenges renters face today

Meeting today’s high renter expectations for digital convenience in the resident experience is complicated by disjointed digital interactions and third-party apps, fragmented and incomplete consumer insights, and a complex and confusing product landscape, leading to under-optimized revenue, loss of operational efficiency and resident dissatisfaction. In fact, more than 50% of Gen Z and Millennials are willing to pay higher rent for improved technology experiences, and 36% are considering moving because they are not satisfied with their current technology experience.

The multifamily industry demands a modern set of resident tools and touchpoints that not only removes friction for residents and enhances their experience but also fits seamlessly into the property technology platforms that operators, property staff and leasing teams use today to support residents and manage the business.

“Having delivered many industry firsts to our customers over the years, RealPage is uniquely positioned to redefine the resident experience for the multifamily industry,” said Dana Jones, RealPage CEO and President. “We look forward to launching the industry’s most robust property technology platform that seamlessly connects the resident journey from leasing to living, both to delight and engage residents and to drive retention and revenue for our customers.”

RealPage will deliver four new resident-centric solutions

RealPage plans to provide the most enriching, seamless and integrated resident experience in multifamily within a single unified platform.

The four new solutions will include:

  1. Unified leasing to living. RealPage’s integrated approach will reduce friction through a single resident portal by delivering the lease application process, identity verification and lease signing in one application, requiring only one digital wallet and one login.
  2. Hassle-free moving. The enhanced moving application will simplify and streamline move-in and move-out processes by offering a checklist, connections to local service providers (e.g., movers, utilities, internet) and progress tracking via dashboards.
  3. Improved financial wellness and payments. These new financial products and services, including payment methods, rent reporting and key partner referrals will benefit residents and property management by improved financial wellness and timely rent payments.
  4. Enhanced loyalty rewards and concessions management. Through these solutions, property managers can leverage high-value incentives to drive resident behaviors and lower concession costs up to 20%. Residents can earn points for signing or renewing their lease and paying their rent, all of which can be redeemed in the rewards marketplace for gift cards — fully funded by RealPage.

These unified offerings will both redefine the resident experience and deliver strategic advantages for property managers, including value-add concessions, reduced operational costs and full integration with RealPage’s property management system, OneSite.

To accelerate the launch of the resident experience platform, RealPage has acquired Keyready, a software company that simplifies the moving process for both residents and property managers. Its suite of moving solutions centralizes, standardizes and optimizes the entire move-in and move-out experience.

Today, several RealPage customers are testing beta versions of the new platform’s Moving and Loyalty solutions. More details on the new resident platform and general availability will be shared in August at RealWorld 2024, RealPage’s marquee customer event.
