USA First Responder Hotline – Trauma-Informed Mental Health Rehab Center Launch

Utah Addiction Centers (801-766-2233), based in the USA, has launched a first responder trauma-informed rehab center in conjunction with a 24-hour mental health crisis hotline for distressed individuals.

Eagle Mountain, United States - February 14, 2022 /PressCable/

The clinic’s new program is geared to those people suffering from PTSD and related disorders in conjunction with substance use disorders – SUDs. This service complements the wide-ranging and intensive drug abuse recovery and alcohol rehab programs offered by the clinic.

Utah Addiction Centers, staffed by doctors, therapists, and social support personnel, now offer specialized treatment for first responders, including military, EMS, firefighter, dispatcher, law enforcement, and correctional personnel. First responder clients receive personalized trauma-informed care and group therapy that caters to the individuals’ specific trauma and symptoms.

The acutely stressful nature of first responder jobs can have a severe impact on general mental health due to frequent exposure to disaster, life-threatening situations, and physical strain. For example, according to one study, almost 40% of EMTs suffer from depression coupled with high levels of drug abuse. In total, approximately one-third of all first responders are believed to develop adverse behavioral health conditions. Treatments offered by Utah Addiction Centers include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Neurofeedback (NFB), and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP). For example, EMDR is an evidence-based therapy process that works through eight stages to address traumatic memories. It is accessible to clients weekly, both personally and in groups.

The clinic focuses on group and family therapy because the therapeutic group setting is proven to be the most effective residential trauma-informed care treatment process. The main challenge in treating PTSD and trauma in first responders is to regain/reset a stable cognitive balance between the emotional and rational sections of their brain. Striking the right balance enables people to take control of their emotions and the everyday life choices that they make.

Utah Addiction Centers offers broad-ranging treatments based on psychotherapy, medical services, and the 12 step model. The clinic tailors holistic treatment in accordance with a patient’s specific needs, equipping that person with the tools to maintain a positive and healthy life.

One client commented: “Utah addiction center has saved my life. Thanks to Jeremy and his amazing team I now have my life back. And I am clean which is one of the best feelings in the world. I highly recommend this facility, it is life-changing.”
