Seasonal Roots Donates $2,700 to Montgomery County Schools

By: PRLog

ROCKVILLE, Md. - Oct. 10, 2022 - PRLog -- Seasonal Roots is distributing $2,700 among sixteen Montgomery County schools and PTAs this month. The company's donations go to schools that launched Seasonal Roots fundraisers in August and early September. Additional monthly distributions will continue throughout the 2022/2023 school year.

Seasonal Roots is an online farmers market that sources local produce and artisan goods from dozens of farmers and makers. Orders are placed online and delivered to homes across Montgomery County and Virginia. Schools with Seasonal Roots' fundraisers earn money each time a new customer joins the online market using the school's unique code.

"Schools are an incredible partner in helping to connect local farmers and artisans with their nearby communities, and we love supporting them," said Duane Slyder, Seasonal Roots Founder. "We gave out hundreds of apples and peaches at school-sponsored family events and teacher appreciation days in September, and we offer great resources for the classroom and to administrators."

Seasonal Roots fundraisers are popular in schools because they connect their communities to healthy and locally grown products, they earn substantial funds to support school programs, and they are simple to administer. Seasonal Roots creates a fundraiser toolkit that lets volunteers or school staff launch the program with a few clicks.

"We are now working with twenty-two schools, and more are launching Seasonal Roots fundraisers in the coming weeks," said Glenn Fellman, Maryland Expansion Manager. "We are open to working with schools across the county, including private schools," he added.
