Seasoned Healthcare Industry Executive Brings Extensive Business Development Experience to the Leadership Role

TeleMed2U, a leading tele-specialty care company focused on leveraging technology and end-to-end patient services to deliver high-quality affordable care, today announced the appointment of Laura Dettmann as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Reporting directly to CEO AJ Patel, Dettmann will work closely with the executive team to refine TeleMed2U’s specialty telemedicine growth roadmap. This includes supporting even more health plans as they move toward an integrated approach to chronic disease management with the goal of improving health outcomes and member experience through seamless specialty care coordination.

Patients across the country are faced with long wait times to see a specialist—often eight to 12 months or even longer for a first appointment. For those living in a healthcare desert, the problem is doubly compounded by not only the distance but transportation to quality providers. Since launching in 2011, TeleMed2U has focused on building solutions that increase member access to specialty care regardless of their location, improving outcomes while reducing scheduling delays.

Today this is accomplished at scale by combining technology with a growing network of over 500 providers spanning 20 specialties, including endocrinology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, cardiology, infectious diseases, and behavioral health, to make critical health care connections—which might otherwise not have been possible—a reality. With this model, patients are evaluated, diagnosed, and managed longitudinally as part of a personalized treatment plan. And, when necessary, appropriate referrals can then be made to other providers allowing for a seamless care delivery experience.

Dettmann comes to TeleMed2U from digital health company Sharecare where she served as the Vice President of Payor Sales and was responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive health plan market share acquisition. Additional business development experience includes growth roles at Softheon, Welldoc, and HealthSparq over the past decade. At TeleMed2U, Dettmann will draw from these career experiences to expand the company’s footprint across the nation and extend how members use virtual care to connect to the high-quality specialty care they need and deserve.
