Aalo Announces New Supply Chain Partners at Aaloverse Summit in Austin as Company Approaches 2026 Criticality for Aalo-X (XMR) Nuclear Reactor
Aalo Atomics, the company building fully modular nuclear plants (XMRs) to power modern AI data centers, today hosts its inaugural Aaloverse Summit, an event highlighting the company’s robust supply chain and partnership ecosystem, as well as the shipment of the first five Aalo-0 modules to the company’s test site in Idaho. The completed modules are key to unlocking the XMR concept and will be used as the Aalo-0 prototype, which will perform integral effects tests and produce steam at engineering scale from Aalo’s reactor. The successful production of the Aalo-0 modules directly reflect Aalo’s relentless focus on scalability, vertical integration and design for manufacturing and assembly principles. It is also a critical precursor to achieving criticality in 2026 and operating the Aalo-X (XMR) nuclear reactor.
“The modules being shipped to our test site today showcase our factory’s ability to transform raw materials into fully functional, standardized, nuclear power plant modules, while also achieving the economies of scale through production, the nuclear industry has previously lacked,” said Yasir Arafat, co-founder and CTO of Aalo Atomics. “This first shipment is a testament to the diversity and strength of our supply chain partners who bring an unprecedented level of expertise to our production environment.”
The current Aalo supply chain ecosystem consists of more than 125 different suppliers representing over 35 U.S. states and six countries. Some supply chain and operational partners being highlighted at the Aaloverse event include:
- Baker Hughes and Siemens – Aalo is partnered with these two industry-leading steam turbine generator suppliers, who can provide this necessary component for making power from the Aalo reactors
- Dubose – Dubose is providing steel to Aalo for containment vessels and more
- Flowserve – This leading provider of flow control products and services for the global infrastructure markets is providing Aalo with pumps, valves and seals
- Microsoft, Nvidia and Idaho National Laboratory (INL) – Aalo is collaborating with Microsoft, Nvidia and INL to lay the groundwork for a digital super-operator platform that can transform how nuclear reactors of the future can safely operate with minimal operators
- Paragon Energy Solutions – Paragon, a producer of mechanical, electrical, and I&C mission-critical equipment, is providing Aalo with instrumentation and controls
- Urenco – Urenco will provide Aalo with fuel in the form of enriched uranium
- GE – GE will fabricate Aalo’s fuel pins for Aalo-X and beyond
“Texas has made the nation’s largest state investment in the advanced nuclear energy industry. Governor Abbott’s vision is clear: Texas will become the epicenter of the American Nuclear Renaissance. Companies like Aalo Atomics are locating and innovating here in Texas because of our friendly regulatory environment, talented and skilled workforce, and the Texas entrepreneurial spirit,” said Jarred Shaffer, Director, Texas Advanced Nuclear Energy Office (TANEO). “We look forward to seeing Aalo Atomics, as well as other Texas based companies and projects, achieve criticality next year and a continued partnership with the company for years to come as it continues to build and manufacture its Aalo reactors here in our great state.”
Aalo remains on track to achieve criticality by July 2026, ahead of operating the Aalo-X reactor, a 10MWe factory-built pilot power plant with modules assembled on site and precursor to Aalo’s first commercial product, the Aalo Pod. Aalo continues to hit milestones weekly, with recent developments including signing an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) and completing a Preliminary Design Review with the Department of Energy (DOE) and becoming the first company in the DOE Reactor Pilot Program to begin construction activities at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL).
