GitLab (GTLB) Reports Earnings Tomorrow: What To Expect

DevSecOps platform provider GitLab (NASDAQ: GTLB) will be reporting results this Tuesday after market hours. Here’s what you need to know.

GitLab beat analysts’ revenue expectations by 4% last quarter, reporting revenues of $236 million, up 29.2% year on year. It was a mixed quarter for the company, with an impressive beat of analysts’ EBITDA estimates but revenue guidance for next quarter slightly missing analysts’ expectations.

This quarter, analysts are expecting GitLab’s revenue to grow 22% year on year to $239.1 million, slowing from the 31% increase it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings are expected to come in at $0.20 per share.

Analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. GitLab has a history of exceeding Wall Street’s expectations, beating revenue estimates every single time over the past two years by 3.3% on average.

Looking at GitLab’s peers in the software development segment, some have already reported their Q3 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. JFrog delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 25.5%, beating analysts’ expectations by 6.6%, and Fastly reported revenues up 15.3%, topping estimates by 4.7%. JFrog traded up 27% following the results while Fastly was also up 36.6%.
