Top US OBGYN Denounces Libertarian Party Candidate’s Stance on Transgender Bathroom Policy

Dr. Greg Marchand asserts that allowing biological males into female bathrooms during their formative years could invite confusion and the potential for assault, as it engages the most primitive emotions of children who are still developing into mature, functioning adults in society.

Dr. Greg Marchand, a leading OBGYN in the United States, has slammed newly nominated Libertarian Party candidate Chase Oliver's stance on allowing transgender biological males to use girls' bathrooms in schools. Dr. Marchand's comments come in response to Oliver's recent tweet stating, "Cisgender girls have nothing to fear from a trans peer needing to pee."

Dr. Marchand asserts that childhood, adolescence, and teenage years are crucial periods for exploring different roles and beliefs. Allowing biological males into female bathrooms during these formative years, the top OBGYN explains, could invite confusion and the potential for assault, as it engages the most primitive emotions of children who are still developing into mature, functioning adults in society.

"Schools in the US need to be a safe place to learn, not a place where parents need to fear a government enabling perversion," said Dr. Marchand. "Anyone who doesn't think that laws allowing boys into girls' bathrooms in school would be abused simply does not remember what some teenage boys were like. Like giving a monkey a loaded gun, it is simply asking for trouble."

Dr. Marchand contends that policies permitting boys to enter girls' bathrooms promote perversion and abuse. He believes individuals seeking surgical or hormonal alterations to more closely resemble the opposite gender should be allowed to do so only after reaching the age of consent, minimizing the risk of regret. Until then, Dr. Marchand advocates for counseling and necessary mental health treatment for these children, ensuring they receive support until they can legally consent to transitioning procedures if they choose to do so.

"This statement stands against the Libertarian position and against the safety of school-age girls. This statement should disqualify Mr. Oliver as a candidate," Dr. Marchand stated, citing the inconsistency between Oliver's social stance and the Libertarian Party's traditional values.

Dr. Marchand is the director of the Marchand Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery and the fellowship program director for the Institute's SLS (Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons) Accredited Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. Additionally, he serves as an associate professor of medicine at several local medical schools in Arizona, where he is dedicated to teaching students, fellows, and residents.

The Marchand Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery is a research and educational non-profit corporation and functional think tank focused on advancing women's health and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
