Seattle's Very Own House Cleaning Records Offers a Limited Edition, Hand-Labeled Vinyl Release Now Available Online
—
In the pulsating heart of the Pacific Northwest, where ocean and forest meets city skyline, a new rhythm is about to sweep through the underground House Music scene. House Cleaning Records (HCR) is set to make waves with its very first vinyl release, ‘HCR001 - Adam Collins - Get Me Started EP.’ This four-track vinyl record promises to ignite intimate venues and discotechs all over, captivating audiophiles and dance music enthusiasts alike. It also marks a significant milestone for the music label, showcasing its commitment to preserving the legacy of House Music while boldly pushing the genre into new territories.
Founded in February 2021, House Cleaning Records (HCR) is more than just another label in a saturated music industry. It's a community-driven movement, an educational endeavor, and a passion project spearheaded by Kyle Douglas and Jenn Sturgill. The existence of HCR goes further back than its founding, as Kyle Douglas, the Co-Founder and Creative Director, has been DJing since the late 90s. As a Chicago-bred DJ with over two decades of mixing experience and historical knowledge, he brings a unique perspective to HCR as both a civil engineer and a music industry veteran. His technical prowess, upbeat sound, and risk-taking attitude behind the decks have shaped HCR's vision. Jenn Sturgill, a multifaceted entrepreneur with a marketing and business management background, brings her keen sense of organization and structure with her to the label. She has been a House Head for as long as she can remember. Her experience as an event manager and nightclub promoter has also been instrumental in building HCR’s community-focused approach.
For their debut vinyl release, HCR couldn't have chosen a more fitting artist than Adam Collins of Euphoria Records. A longtime producer, mentor, and friend, Adam embodies the ethos that HCR stands for - community, creativity, and musical excellence. The collaboration between HCR and Adam began at a co-produced event with Restless Planet in Seattle in 2022, sparking an instant connection that has now culminated in this groundbreaking EP. "It's like making a baby together," Adam remarked during the production process, highlighting this release's intimate and collaborative nature.
The 'Get Me Started EP’ features meticulously crafted tracks, each exemplifying different facets of Adam’s production skills and HCR's musical vision. Side A kicks-off with "Get Me Started," a high-energy track with rhythmic pianos, bongos, and a Juno 106 baseline, creating an uplifting vibe perfect for summer. Following this is "Upstart," inspired by a trip to Chicago, capturing the essence of a late-night basement party with its funky groove.
Side B features "Kucni Snimak" (Serbian for 'Home Movie'), a deep minimal roller ideal for after-hours sessions, reflecting Adam’s versatility. The EP closes with "Vracar," a stripped-down piece named after the Belgrade neighborhood where much of the music was composed, offering a glimpse into Adam’s creative process.
The record also represents different facets of House Music, from high-energy dancefloor fillers to deep, introspective cuts, demonstrating both Adam’s range as a producer and HCR's commitment to exploring the full spectrum of the genre. This carefully curated selection of tracks embodies HCR's mission to produce Underground House, Deep House, Tech House, and Minimal, showcasing their dedication to hand-picking artists based on professionalism and talent.
This EP promises to be a must-have for vinyl collectors and new fans of physical media alike. The release will be available in a limited batch of 150 records, with a potential for re-release in the future. This strategy is to target a curated audience that truly loves the music, enjoys the art of collecting and using records, and also adept DJs and producers that will appreciate the phrasing. Each record is hand-labeled and packaged by the HCR team, with some lucky buyers finding personal notes and other gifts from the label inside their sleeves. Vinyl purchasers will also receive exclusive digital access to the tracks (purchasers can contact HCR for instructions at info@housecleaningrecords.com).
