NEW YORK, Sept. 09, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Qodo, the AI Code Quality and Governance Platform, today announced the launch of its Agentic Toolbox, a unified suite of agent tools and skills designed to serve as the dedicated quality counterpart to AI coding agents. Qodo’s Agentic Toolbox addresses the market’s growing need to move beyond standalone AI assistants by enabling agent-first systems that coordinate specialized agents under human-defined policies.

The first wave of AI development tools accelerated code generation, but autonomous coding agents introduce a more consequential challenge for enterprises: engineering decisions are being delegated to agents that may not understand the system history, dependencies, and organizational standards impacted by the code they are writing or changing. This creates an urgent need for an independent quality layer that can guide, review, and govern agent-generated changes before they introduce risk.

Qodo’s Agentic Toolbox brings that quality layer directly into the agent workflow. As coding agents work, they invoke Qodo’s specialized agents and tools, which draw context from across repositories, pull request history, specifications, and engineering standards to challenge plans and changes, identify risks, and validate fixes in real time. With the Qodo platform, engineering leaders define the standards, risk boundaries, and escalation policies under which agents operate, with consistent visibility across coding tools, repositories, and teams.

"Developers want the freedom to choose whichever coding agent best fits their workflow, but engineering leaders need one consistent quality and governance layer across all of them," said Itamar Friedman, CEO and co-founder of Qodo. "The Agentic Toolbox introduces a system of checks and balances for agentic software development, making quality part of the infrastructure around agent-driven software creation, not a checkpoint at the end.”

Integrating directly with agent environments including Claude Code, Codex, and Kiro, the Agentic Toolbox gives agents access to Qodo’s review and governance capabilities throughout the development workflow:

  • Understand before they change: Examine architecture, dependencies, development history, and live code changes to understand how a proposed change could affect the wider system.
  • Review code before the pull request: Run Qodo’s full review process on work in progress, including committed and uncommitted changes, so issues can be caught and resolved earlier.
  • Act directly on review findings: Retrieve structured findings from Qodo and use them to investigate and fix open issues within the coding session.
  • Apply standards from the start: Give agents the relevant organizational rules before implementation begins, helping ensure the first draft reflects company expectations.
  • Manage policies conversationally: Allow authorized administrators to create, update, and apply organizational coding and review standards through natural-language instructions.
