From Baton Rouge to Broadway: Peyton North's "Leap of Faith" Art Show Debuts in NYC Oct. 2

Multidisciplinary artist brings hope, fashion, and street art energy to Manhattan's Fashion District

NEW YORK CITY, NY / ACCESS Newswire / September 30, 2025 / The Manhattan art and fashion world's creatives will converge on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, when multidisciplinary artist and designer Peyton North debuts Leap of Faith, a one-night-only exhibition at Studio 260 NYC, 260 West 36th Street, in the heart of the Fashion District. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The immersive evening will feature North's newest large-scale paintings, couture-inspired streetwear, and live art designed to blur the boundaries between canvas, clothing, and performance. Guests will experience a mix of high fashion and urban edge that reflects North's rising profile among collectors, designers, and cultural influencers.

"Art expresses hope, imagination and layers of connection," North said. "Through every canvas and design, I want people to feel immersed in a state of flow, fearless, inspired to be 100% unapologetically authentic in who they are, and part of the collective creative process." North draws inspiration and joy from the streets of NYC with an adventurous spirit shaped by his multi-cultural life experiences.

A Rising Voice in Pop Street Art

Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, North first began painting as a toddler, later designing soccer cleats and shoes, reworking vintage leather jackets and painting sneakers as a teenager. His bold, color-saturated style-often described as soul stirring pop-iconic street art-quickly attracted attention from peers, collectors, and eventually professional athletes, as did his original lyrics in music he self-produced. North was not shy about standing out.

In 2021, North's confidence, bold style, music, authentic energy while remaining humble during live performance painting caught the eye of Anthony Ranaudo, a New Jersey native, entrepreneur, LSU National Champion, and former Major League Baseball pitcher. Ranaudo invited North to showcase his work and paint live at his Baton Rouge retail space, Cards and Culture, where pro athletes and clients began acquiring North's early large-scale canvases and custom sneakers.

Since then, North's work has appeared in private collections, restaurants, galleries, and hotels. His collectors include NFL and MLB players, fashion photographers, and fellow artists he admires like John Rivoli, known for his work as the "Rocky" artist and Icons In Art. North's most recent commission is a full-room transformation at the Beacon Inn & Spa in Beacon, New York, where he covered walls and ceilings with bold 1980s-inspired NYC subway and street art-his largest interior design project to date.

Fashion, Performance, and Public Art

In addition to his canvases, North has developed a reputation for casual wearable art-replicating paintings into jackets, sneakers, crew neck sweatshirts and one-of-a-kind clothing pieces. His "Livin' Wyld" sneakers, hand-painted bomber jackets, and pop-inspired accessories are popular with Gen Z and millennial buyers, while his custom-tailored pieces have caught the attention of C-suite executives, realtors and stockbrokers. His art has sparked requests by interior designers and trend-forward professionals. His more custom couture men's bomber and field jackets are lined with his art in fine fabrics featuring exquisite details, many of them one-of-one designs, debuted in NYFW and New Orleans Fashion Week.

North's New York presence is equally dynamic. North is a familiar presence in New York City's Midtown, where he stages impromptu live-painting sessions outside landmarks such as Grand Central Terminal. Often joined by musicians and enthused singers from the crowd, these pop-up performances have cultivated a devoted following of locals and visitors alike. It was at one of these events that caught the attention of hotelier and art collector Bethany Souza, owner of the Beacon Inn & Spa located in The Factory in Beacon, NY, who recently commissioned North to completely transform a guest suite with a bold 1980's pop street art on floors and ceiling. She also invited North to continue live painting exhibitions.

These impromptu performances are cultivating a devoted following among young New Yorkers and visitors inspired by his outspoken belief that "I'm amazing. You're amazing. We're amazing. We're going to do amazing things together and no one stops us."

"Eternal Sunshine", "Best Kept Secret," "Aces & 8th's,". The "Living Wyld" Sneakers in high and low tops are gaining popularity. North personally wears his high quality shoe designs at the boxing gym, soccer field, and while working. His latest favorite is the "Visual Jazz Athletic Sneakers."

"I want people to feel like they are painting it with me, in the Flow State with me," he said. "The show is designed for guests to have an immersive, inspired, healing and uplifting experience," he said with a broad grin. He added that "the best thing about hosting this art show is creating the energy of the room, and to get lost in the moment in a way to forget about the outside, so inspiring one can't explain how immersive it is.

"To share the journey together, to write the story with the takeaway that you are empowered to use your voice and be proud, excited and amplify who you are, you feel nothing can dim your light in being your 100% authentic self fearlessly!"

A Multi-Hyphenate Creative

Beyond the studio, North has modeled in New York Fashion Week (2023), New Orleans Fashion Week (2018-present), and been photographed for national campaigns for Haspel, Marriott, Hanes, and Lucky Brand, among others. He co-produced and co-hosted the first two seasons of Fashion for Ukraine in 2024 and 2025, showcasing his men's and women's designs alongside emerging Ukrainian and American designers.

North's talents also extend to music and film. He has written and produced episodic films, poetry, fiction, rap music, directed music videos, and served as director of photography for short episodic films. In 2024, he starred in the independent film The Ribbon, which premiered on Amazon Prime and was nominated for an International Christian Film Award. Several film projects are currently being considered.
