HistoryMaker Homes Capitalizes on Legacy as Oldest Builder in Texas With Expansion Into San Antonio and Appointments of New San Antonio Division President and Director of Construction

Leading home builder fuels next step in growth strategy by targeting San Antonio and selecting its first community for construction in the area

HistoryMaker Homes, the oldest family-owned builder founded in Texas with a 70-plus-year legacy of expertise in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Houston markets, announces the expansion of its operations into the San Antonio market with the appointment of Manny Alarcon as San Antonio division president and Jason Elliott as director of construction. San Antonio was recently named one of the “Top 10 Markets to Watch in 2023” by a national outlook report from the National Association of Realtors.

With a deep heritage of understanding the varying needs of Texas’ biggest markets, HistoryMaker Homes is well-positioned to meet San Antonio’s strong demand for high-quality, affordable new homes as it enters the market with construction slated to begin this summer in the Morgan Meadows community located in the northwest part of the city.

“Our long history of success in the greater Houston and DFW markets and our understanding of evolving markets like San Antonio revealed to us that now is an ideal time to capture one of the state’s best opportunities to meet homebuyers’ needs,” said Nelson Mitchell, CEO of HistoryMaker Homes. “Manny’s experience in land acquisition and entitlement combined with his relationships in the area has already allowed HistoryMaker to gain traction quickly throughout the market and guide us into the future.”

In 2022, HistoryMaker Homes completed more than 1,250 homes in the DFW and Houston markets. HistoryMaker Homes was recently ranked #57 on the national Builder 100 list, up two spots from last year. The builder serves a range of buyers from first-time homeowners to those looking to move up to more amenities or additional square footage. HistoryMaker Homes offers competitively priced housing with flexible home technology, energy efficiency and intelligent construction methods.

As division president for HistoryMaker Homes in San Antonio, Alarcon will leverage his 17 years of homebuilding expertise in both San Antonio and Austin, where he served in roles from sales to marketing and land acquisition leadership. Most recently, Alarcon served as senior vice president of Land Acquisition for KB Home in San Antonio. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Concordia University Texas.

“I’m excited to join HistoryMaker Homes, a homebuilder with a legacy of excellence in Texas, and lead the expansion into the San Antonio market,” Alarcon said. “San Antonio’s strong economy, good job growth and demand for affordable housing are a perfect match for HistoryMaker’s focus on attainable housing solutions for everyone.”

Joining Alarcon in launching HistoryMaker into San Antonio, Elliott will serve as director of construction for the new operation. His experience spans more than two decades serving in roles from superintendent to project management and construction leadership. Elliott earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Southwestern University.
