Texas Super Lawyers Honors Four Miller Fair Henry Attorneys

Recognition highlights firm’s expertise in intellectual property litigation

Four attorneys with trial boutique Miller Fair Henry have once again been honored by Texas Super Lawyers for expertise in intellectual property litigation in the legal guide’s 2025 edition.

The recognition from Super Lawyers, which highlights the top 5% of attorneys in the state, is the latest in a year that has included similar honors from other legal publications. In addition, the firm’s attorneys have achieved a series of courthouse victories that include two nine-figure verdicts in patent infringement cases.

Trial lawyer Andrea Fair participated in multiple jury trials in the Eastern District of Texas in the past year, highlighted by two cases in which she worked with teams successfully representing technology firm Headwater Research. This summer, a jury awarded $175 million to Headwater in a patent infringement case against Verizon, while another jury awarded $278.8 million in patent infringement claims against Samsung.

Ms. Fair also was inducted this summer into the International Society of Barristers, an organization reserved for the world’s most distinguished trial lawyers.

In addition to Ms. Fair, Texas Super Lawyers also selected partner Claire Abernathy Henry and two Of Counsel attorneys with the firm, former U.S. District Court Judge T. John Ward and former U.S. Magistrate Judge Charles Everingham IV. All three were also recently named to The Best Lawyers in America legal guide, and Mr. Everingham was selected as the Tyler-Longview area’s Lawyer of the Year for patent litigation.

Ms. Henry represents plaintiffs and defendants in commercial disputes, securities litigation, False Claims Act cases, antitrust litigation and high-stakes patent litigation matters in the Eastern and Western Districts of Texas.

Judge Ward has been named to the Super Lawyers list annually since 2012, the year after he retired from the federal bench in East Texas where he presided over some of the nation’s most high-profile intellectual property and class-action lawsuits. Judge Everingham served as Judge Ward’s law clerk before becoming a magistrate judge for one of the nation’s busiest patent litigation courts.

The Super Lawyers honors are the first for the firm under the Miller Fair Henry name, but several lawyers were recognized in past years under the previous Ward Smith & Hill partnership.

Selection for Super Lawyers, published by Thomson Reuters, is based on peer nominations, evaluations by peers and clients and independent research.

Based in Longview, Texas, Miller Fair Henry is a trial law firm with a proven track record in high-stakes intellectual property disputes, commercial litigation and personal legal services. The firm’s attorneys are frequently called on by lawyers nationwide to assist with complex litigation before Texas juries. Learn more at millerfairhenry.com/.
