Copeland's of Jacksonville sponsored on Friday the scholarship reception of Dreams Come True (DCT), a First Coast local charity for children with life-threatening diseases.
Around 50 scholars and their families attended the sponsored dinner for DCT's Moore Scholarships on Thursday. The scholarship aims to reduce the tuition costs of a DCT-sponsored child and their sibling in university or trade school.
"We know that food can bring people together, and we're thrilled to have used that power to continue our support for Dreams Come True. Our dream dinners have been a way to give back to our community, and we're honored to have shared those special moments with the children and families who benefit from DCT's mission," a Copeland's representative shared.
DCT, whose organization puts 100% of all donations to dream fulfillment, thanked Copeland's for willingly sponsoring the event.
They said, "The generosity of Copeland's of Jacksonville has truly made a difference in the lives of the children we serve. They've helped us create unforgettable memories for children facing unimaginable challenges by partnering with us on events and dream dinners. We're honored to have such a dedicated partner in Copeland's."
Copeland's and DCT have previously partnered for charity events. In 2021, Copeland's provided breakfast for participants in the 12th Annual Ride for Dreams. The annual event raises funds for children sponsored by DCT. Copeland's has supported Ride for Dreams for years.
