Hospi Corporation has released a new version of the Macy Catheter training video used by hospice, palliative care, skilled nursing, IPU, and home health clinicians. This video is more concise and pleasant to watch; Macy Catheter implementation is easier for agencies and insertion is easier for patients and caregivers to understand.
The new training video covers rectal bioavailability, the efficacy of administering rectal medications via the Macy Catheter, rectal catheter procedure, introducing the rectal route to patients and families, monitoring utilization and feedback, and accessing Macy Catheter resources.
While the video is available for anyone to watch on the Instructional Videos page of the Macy Catheter website, agencies who are interested in implementing the pain and symptom management tool can schedule a 30-minute Zoom session with Hospi’s Clinical Team via the Contact Us page. Hospi also offers live training sessions for large agencies.
Hospi Corporation partnered with Relias Learning to offer CE credit to those who use Hospi Academy to watch the training video and complete a 10-question follow-up exam. This resource can be utilized by agencies who have already implemented the Macy Catheter but want to train new nurses or refresh their existing staff regarding procedure.
