National Parks NFT Community Surprises Its Founders, Raises $11K

IRVINE, Calif. - Jan. 4, 2022 - PRLog -- National Parks NFT is an NFT community for outdoor enthusiasts. Two weeks after announcing their project, they tried a charity fundraiser to test just how passionate their followers were - raising over $11K in the first 12 hours for the National Park Foundation.

What's so astonishing about this feat, is that none of these donors have even bought one of their NFTs yet. They have no skin in the game, yet they have such a passion for the parks, they're willing to support this upcoming NFT community, knowing that its fundraiser is something they passionately care about.

Mick Gow, the founder of National Parks NFTs, built the community starting with a passionate subject, then evolving his idea from there. Currently, many NFT projects start with eye-catching artwork (Bored Apes and CryptoPunks), then reverse-engineer how that artwork can turn into something. "Everyone is doing it backward. I come from a product design background, and you need to start with a problem or passion, then build your project around that," says Gow.

So far an impressive group has formed and introduced themselves in the Discord group. There are park rangers, forestry managers, filmmakers, wilderness first responders, van-lifers, and even someone that camped for 171 nights testing camping equipment. That's a lot of campfire stories.

Unlike many NFT collections, this collection has real-world utility – different NFT traits give you access to different membership perks. Hundreds of these types of combinations via traits mix-and-match members with benefits. "As our community forms, we'll have experts that are rewarded for running workshops. We're building partnerships to offer product giveaways which will also be funded by NFT sales. Over time we will become a self-operating outdoor community and economy," explains Mick Gow.
