Zhu Shanzhong, UNWTO Ambassador, highlighted in his address that Anhui, with its unique natural landscapes and profound cultural heritage, has emerged as a crucial window showcasing Chinese civilization. He put forward five collaborative initiatives, including integrating Anhui into the global priority destination promotion program, advancing the “Huizhou Model” rural tourism, and establishing a facilitation mechanism for inbound tourism.
Trip.com Group Senior Vice President Tang Lan highlighted in his speech that the platform's data reveals a significant trend: from January to October 2025, inbound tourist spending in Anhui province nearly doubled compared to the same period in 2019. The Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan market accounted for over 30% of visitors, while the Southeast Asian market experienced explosive growth, with Thai tourists surging by more than 100%. Notably, over 55% of inbound tourists opted for high-star hotels, indicating a clear shift toward mid-to-high-end consumption. Behind these figures lies not just market recovery, but a cultural resonance and mutual engagement.
