~New alternative rock release marks the culmination of a 20-year creative journey and features a cinematic music video~

After more than four decades performing throughout the Southeast, rock musician Mitch Malone will release his first solo single and music video, "Spider's Web," on Aug. 28. The guitar-driven track, accompanied by an official music video, is the first release from his debut solo album, Dreams of Fire, arriving Oct. 23.

Originally from Atlanta, Malone's musical journey took shape in Tallahassee while attending Florida State University, where he co-founded the 1980s rock band, Shark Attack. Although Malone continued performing throughout his career, "Spider's Web" marks the realization of a solo project for more than two decades in the making.

Blending the guitar-driven energy of classic rock with modern alternative production, “Spider’s Web” draws inspiration from late 1990s and early 2000s guitar-driven alternative rock while establishing a distinct voice of its own. Dark, atmospheric and emotionally charged, the song explores themes of emotional entrapment, inner struggle and resilience through a deeply personal lens. Co-written by Malone and Mark Vella, "Spider's Web" features Malone as lead vocalist and primary musician.

“These songs have been with me for more than 20 years,” said Malone. “I never started it with commercial expectations. I wanted to create something authentic and meaningful. ‘Spider’s Web’ reflects a lifetime of musical influences, experiences and lessons learned. I’m proud to finally share it with the world.”

Malone is accompanied in the music video by studio musicians, fellow studio collaborators, and current and former members of Shark Attack. The video was directed by Malone’s daughter, Madison Malone, whose creative vision helped bring the project to life.

"Spider's Web" will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music and other major streaming services beginning Aug. 28. The official music video will premiere simultaneously on Malone's YouTube channel.
