Motorola Solutions’ ‘Inform’ Unifies Real-Time Incident Response and Security Operations

Launching at GSX 2025, Inform unifies Avigilon’s video and access control solutions to provide security professionals with AI-assisted, real-time situational awareness and incident response while connecting enterprises with public safety agencies

At GSX 2025 in New Orleans, Sept. 29 - Oct. 1, Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) is showcasing new AI-assisted incident response solutions across on-premise, cloud-based and other third-party security deployments that ease the burden on security operators managing hundreds of cameras, doors, sensors and more.

Marking the first step in unifying the Avigilon open-architecture security suite, Inform aggregates data from Avigilon and a diverse range of third-party solutions for a fully integrated view of the physical security ecosystem. It orchestrates actions based on data from video security and access control systems on a single screen and initiates a faster, more decisive incident response through integrated communications, including radios.

“Security operations centers are drowning in fragmented systems and data overload and trapped in endless cycles of manual triage and reactive firefighting across disconnected tools,” said Jehan Wickramasuriya, senior vice president, Security & Resilience Software, Motorola Solutions. "Inform is driving the shift toward intelligent, unified enterprise security. Combining Avigilon Unity and Avigilon Alta with AI-powered automation enables security teams to move from detection to decisive action, transforming reactive operations into proactive, resilient systems.”

"Connecting the dots across different security events to understand the bigger picture is a constant battle,” Mark Reed, executive director of Campus Support Operations, City of Hope Cancer Centers. “We need contextualized, actionable insight, not more data. Inform’s ability to correlate separate alerts into a unified incident response is intelligence that will help our organization manage risk more proactively."

Inform helps security teams identify and respond to complex threats by intelligently grouping multiple, seemingly-disparate events into a single, actionable incident. For example, after several failed badge swipes at a facility, Inform can mobilize nearby cameras, determine if they are connected to a single person of interest, alert security via radios and, as needed, share live information with public safety agencies’ real-time crime centers. This seamless workflow, from detection to response, allows teams to act decisively with focus and clarity.

"During an incident, every second counts and reconciling data across different security systems is a challenge,” said Adrian Arriaga, director, System Security Services, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. “What excites us about Inform is how it uses AI to understand separate events across security systems -- cloud, on-prem and third-parties -- to present a single, actionable workflow for what's most important. That level of openness offers the freedom to scale new solutions without locking us into a particular technology."

Also launching at GSX is Avigilon Visual Alerts, an on-premises generative AI-powered solution that dramatically expands the vocabulary of visual events that can be detected. For example, a hospital’s security team can easily create an alert for "wandering patients near an exit." When the system detects such incidents, Visual Alerts complements Inform’s ability to assist both clinical and security staff with triaging and effectively responding to the incidents.

“We believe Inform and Visual Alerts are complementary and significant steps toward increasing the capabilities of underlying security infrastructure and orchestrating response to help multiple teams save time and prioritize action,” said Wickramasuriya.

Motorola Solutions is committed to the responsible design and use of AI. This is supported by the company's AI labeling initiative, a first for public safety and enterprise security products, which provides clear and concise information about how AI is used across its technologies.

Motorola Solutions will demonstrate Inform, Visual Alerts and other AI-assisted technologies within its enterprise security ecosystem at GSX 2025 in New Orleans Sept. 29 - Oct. 1 in booth #1127.
