This year, the firm will provide more than 400 teachers within the Tucson community with free school supplies for the new school year. "Research consistently shows teachers typically spend hundreds of dollars each year out of their own pocket to buy school supplies. While programs have been put in place to help obtain these supplies, schools and teachers remain in need of much more. The median annual salary for a public school teacher in Tucson, Arizona is $51,852, as reported by Salary.com. Sadly, this is 7.3% below the national average pay for public school teachers. In addition, this pay covers the time spent in the classroom instructing students, afterschool activities, lesson plan preparation, and more.
"Teachers are frequently undercompensated for the time and effort they put into America's children. Often, they work for little or no pay simply to ensure their students have the materials they need to succeed. When they don't have the proper supplies to ensure this is the case, everyone suffers.
