Legal Eagle is proud to announce Tim Thames as eDiscovery Director in their new, expanded location in Columbia, SC. Mr. Thames will be leading eDiscovery efforts, including preservation of data, forensic collections, analysis, electronic database management, and consulting services to clients throughout South Carolina and western North Carolina.
A native of Beaufort, South Carolina, Thames currently resides in Columbia. He comes to Legal Eagle with more than 25 years of experience in litigation, with 13 years of focus on eDiscovery. His previous position was with Richard A. Harpootlian, P.A., as Legal Technology Manager.
Mr. Thames received a Bachelors of Arts in Art History and Philosophy from the University of South Carolina. He began his career in litigation as a paralegal before transitioning to litigation support and eDiscovery, including corporate eDiscovery positions, law firm litigation support management, and data hosting management in service provider environments.
He holds a wealth of certifications, including an ABA-Approved Certificate in Litigation from the National Center for Paralegal Training in Atlanta, GA, Litigation Support Project Management and Litigation Support Management certifications from Document Technologies, Inc., in Atlanta, and certifications and experience with litigation support applications, including Summation, Concordance, Relativity, LAW, Logikcull, Cicayda Reprise, Clearwell, Ipro Eclipse, Ipro Eclipse SE, and eDiscovery and forensic collection utilities.
Tim is well-known within the legal community from his work leading CLEs locally and at national conferences on topics including trial support, eDiscovery, and applying technology resources in litigation. He has held leadership positions with local professional associations and is also an Adjunct Instructor with Midlands Technical College in Columbia, SC, covering legal technology, law office management, and eDiscovery coursework.
