Opinion: Jon Stewart the new Cronkite?

If NBC did try to poach Jon Stewart for Meet the Press, it was a shrewd move. Jon Stewart was right to decline but according to an unscientific focus group, the idea of seeing him as an esteemed network inquisitor makes perfect sense.
