CurrentCoin Announces Digital Software Deployment Solution Powered by Ethereum Smart Contracts

CurrentCoin today announced that its Ethereum-powered, website-building solution is now a working prototype available to consumers and businesses. The company also revealed that its token presale has raised more than $3 million to date.

The website builder is the first stage in the company’s strategy to build a simple and accessible digital software deployment solution powered by Ethereum-based tokens. Its ultimate goal is to deliver digital services at the click of a button by simply sending CurrentCoin tokens and completing a brief intake form. Development is underway now to move beyond instant website building and give users the power to easily and quickly create customized software solutions for increasingly powerful web apps such as informational websites, business portals and chat tools. Details can be found in the latest CurrentCoin white paper.

“Unlike most blockchain applications, which sound amazing, often take years to build and rarely deliver anything of value, CurrentCoin’s website builder works as advertised,” said Chief Strategy Officer Julian Martinez. “The CurrentCoin prototype cuts through all the typical blockchain roadblocks with a working solution that you can use today.”

Building a basic website with CurrentCoin takes less than five minutes from start to finish. The process consists of signing up for free demonstration-only CurrentCoin tokens, sending them to the specified Ethereum contract address, filling out the site specifications, choosing a template and previewing the site before it deploys. Within a few minutes the website is automatically generated to the user’s specifications and operated for the length of time reserved on the CurrentCoin network.

CurrentCoin’s tokens are built on ERC-20, a widely used Ethereum token standard. Though different from ether, the most popular Ethereum-based cryptocurrency, almost all wallets which support ether also support ERC-20-compliant tokens. In fact, most of the tokens released through Ethereum initial coin offerings (ICOs) are ERC-20-compliant.

The company’s token presale, consisting of 100 million tokens, has gotten off to a strong start, with more than $3 million, in the form of ether, raised to date. The presale runs until May 25, after which a two-month ICO will offer 49.9 million tokens for sale.

While anyone can now use the CurrentCoin prototype regardless of location, users in South Korea, China and Japan will initially be the only countries with access to the commercial version (via CurrentCoin token purchases) once it’s released.

Click here to give the prototype a test run. It currently costs users nothing to deploy from the prototype and see a newly generated website since the cost is all in testnet Ethereum, which is available on the prototype website for free.
