The markets opened flat with Dow slipping 7 points to 18,183 as negotiations between Greece and its lenders continued. Nasdaq rose 10 points to 5,014.
On the upside
Noble Energy (NYSE: NBL) will pay a premium of approximately $2.1 billion to acquire Rosetta Resources (Nasdaq: ROSE).
Viggle (Nasdaq: VGGL) widened third quarter losses but revenue surged and net registered users more than doubled.
Alibaba (NYSE: BABA) increased its stake in zulily (Nasdaq: ZU) to more than 9%.
On the downside
FXCM (NYSE: FXCM) fell to a loss for the first quarter and a pension fund sued the company alleging fraud.
Gevo (Nasdaq: GEVO) extended its losses.
Shares of MannKind (Nasdaq: MNKD) continued falling.
In the broad market, advancing issues outpaced decliners by a margin of nearly 5 to 4 on the NYSE and more than 7 to 5 on Nasdaq. The broader S&P 500 held steady at 2116. Bitcoin held steady at $242.
