Extreme Networks Inc. (Nasdaq: EXTR) will pay approximately $55 million in cash to acquire the data center switching, routing, and analytics business from Brocade Communications Systems after Broadcom Ltd. (Nasdaq: AVGO) completes its acquisition of Brocade. Shares of Extreme Networks gained 92 cents to close at $7.38 while Broadcom stock dropped $1.27 to close at $220.04.
