MELBOURNE, Fla. - On April 28th, Christian Care Ministry/Medi-Share, the nation’s leading health care sharing ministry, supported New Life Mission’s fundraiser to help homeless moms and children break the cycle of homelessness.
This year’s goal was to raise $620,000. Christian Care Ministry was a gold sponsor with a gift of $5,000, while 30 CCM employees volunteered over a span of three days in helping make the event a success. New Life Mission’s Community Care and Share fundraiser matched all donations of $250 or greater through the month of April.
“It was an honor to join fellow Christian Care Ministry employees at the annual New Life Mission Care and Share fundraiser,” said Holly Carothers, Christian Care Ministry’s VP & Controller. “The individual testimonies served as a reminder of why we support this ministry year after year. New Life Mission uses the love of Christ to reach homeless women with children in our community and is making an eternal impact in the families they serve.”
Christian Care Ministry’s mission is to connect people to a Christ-centered community wellness experience based on faith, prayer, and personal responsibility, which closely aligns with the mission of New Life Mission to use a Christ-centered environment, education, and accountability to equip homeless moms to transform their families for generations.
New Life Mission’s CEO, Amy Lyon, shared her appreciation: “As a nonprofit organization serving homeless women with children, New Life Mission relies heavily on volunteers. Christian Care Ministry has stepped forward time and time again over the years with individuals and groups to help us clean and paint, prep homes for new families, complete yard work, and cut fabric and denim for our sewing center – the Transformed Shop.
“Most recently, Christian Care Ministry sent teams of volunteers to help with our annual luncheon fundraiser, which draws nearly 800 guests over two days. They packed cookies, set up the tables with programs and dessert, greeted guests and showed them to their tables, set up a pop-up shop for the Transformed Shop, and helped guests shop after the event. It was like our staff was doubled! Their help was invaluable. They gave peace and calm to our staff and helped the event run smoothly. I can’t think of a better example of servant leaders!
“On top of their volunteer efforts, Christian Care Ministry (Medi-Share) was also a Gold sponsor of our Community Care & Share fundraiser, giving $5,000.”
The Community Care and Share fundraiser, which raises 1/3 of the yearly operating expenses, has extended the deadline to May 10th. To learn more or to give, visit NewLife-Mission.org.
