Friendship City: Hanging By a Thread – A New Novel by Carl H. Mitchell

Tarpon Springs, Florida - Carl H. Mitchell, a retired IBM executive, has recently released his new novel “Friendship City: Hanging By a Thread” which takes place in the year 2058. The novel is about a killer plague introduced into the United States by the murderous World Council, and NYPD detective Nick Garvey, along with President Lenora Allison, who are fighting to contain and destroy it.

The citizens of Brownsville, Texas, and Matamoros, Mexico, have created Friendship City to develop their own protective Bill of Rights. However, the new leader of the World Council, Ishmael, vows to destroy Friendship City, and the citizens must fight to defend their community.

The story revolves around NYPD detective Nick Garvey, who is dealing with his daughter’s condition after she came out of a coma and lost her memory, and President Lenora Allison, who once brought the World Council down to its demise and is determined to destroy it once again. Meanwhile, Ishmael, the World Council Leader, has set his sights on destroying both Nick and President Allison.

Carl H. Mitchell has an engineering and computer background, and he uses his vivid imagination to bring the story to life. He writes to both entertain and challenge his readers, drawing them into the world of fiction. His writing is inspired by Victor Hugo’s “The Hunchback of Notre-Dame,” Isaac Asimov, and Ernest Hemingway.

“Friendship City: Hanging By a Thread” was released on July 25th, 2021, and is available for purchase in both print and digital formats. The book is perfect for those who enjoy science fiction and action-packed stories that keep them on the edge of their seats.

In the novel, the citizens of Friendship City must fight for their community and their lives against the World Council and their deadly plague.
